Welcome to another episode of Next Level Human Podcast. In today’s show, Dr. Jade talks about the importance of mitochondrial health. The mitochondria are little organelles living in the cell and they act like the end units of metabolism, meaning they are responsible for creating energy through a very specific process. The mitochondria also have properties like the bacteria and can send and receive signals as well.
The mitochondria create energy by breaking down the end products of digestion (nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins), and this production can be categorized as “clean burning” or “dirty burning”. “Dirty burning” means that the mitochondria have to process a great amount of food (for example, when a person is used to ingesting big meals). “Clean burning” is the opposite.
