Vestibular Specialists Dr. Danielle Tolman, PT and Dr. Abbie Ross, PT, NCS are joined by Sam Owen and Dr. Didier Depireux, Ph.D to talk about their company Otolith Labs and the device that they have been developing for years to help mitigate dizziness and motion sickness: The OtoBand.
"Otolith’s patented non-invasive head-worn technology uses precisely tuned vibrations to interact with the motion sensors in the inner ear, mitigating the symptoms of vertigo and motion sickness. This novel technology has been validated by several clinical studies, including multiple independent studies at universities and with leading automotive manufacturers." Otolith Labs was recently granted De Novo approval by the FDA which provides a pathway to classify novel medical devices for which general controls alone provide reasonable assurance of safety and effectiveness for the intended use, but for which there is no legally marketed predicate device.
