Almost 18 months after the last roundtable podcast I did, in this episode we have our third, the Special 'Youth Football' Edition featuring Paul Bower (Barnsley FC), Luke Jenkinson (Sheffield United FC) and Kevin Paxton (Leicester City FC). I loved the previous 2 roundtable podcast I did and have tried to line up a few more over the last few months, but it has proved very difficult with how busy peoples schedules are. So, I am delighted to get these guys on for a chat about youth football and I thank them for their patience and cooperation in making this happen.

In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast I am chatting to football physiologist at ASPETAR in Qatar, Richard Akenhead. Richard's name often gets brought up when chatting about GPS and load monitoring when I am out and about in my day job. There seems to be a lot of skepticism still around the use of GPS and accelerometers to measure load so I thought it would be pertinent to get an expert on in this area. I would encourage you to check out Richard's research in the link below.

In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast I am speaking to Head of Sports Science at Southampton Football Club, Alek Gross. Alek has been on my hit list for a while now and with the football off-season I was able to stalk him and get him on for a chat. Alek has an interesting background, coming from rugby league and into football which doesn't happen very often so it was great to get his views on some important issues.

In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast, I have the great pleasure of speaking with Director of Medical Services at the San Antonio Spurs, Phil Coles. Phil's CV includes Liverpool Football Club, Newcastle Knights and the Socceroos (Australian national soccer team). After reading Phil's recent article on the role of the High-Performance Unit prior to his talk at the Leaders in Sport conference I thought it would be fantastic to get him on and thankfully he was able to make time in his busy schedule.

In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast I am speaking with professor of organisational psychology and change at Manchester Metropolitan University, Damian Hughes. Damian is also an acclaimed author and was a recent keynote speaker at the Catapult Summit at Twickenham. I actually read Damian's book Liquid Thinking back in 2012 and it made a very big impact on me at the time so when Damian was announced as keynote speaker I was delighted.

In episode 93 of the Pacey Performance Podcast I have the pleasure of speaking with the newly appointed Head of Performance & Science at the IRFU, Nick Winkelman. Nick is a world renowned coach, especially in the area of coaching science so it great to add him to the list of world class guests who have featured on the podcast. I know Nick has been on a number of podcasts but he is such an engaging and knowledgeable guy, it was ESSENTIAL.

In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast I am speaking with Athletic Performance Dietitian at the GWS Giants and Cronulla Sharks, Jess Spendlove. In this episode we get really practical with nutrition and how Jess creates processes for the athletes she works with. It was great to get Jess on as the first to primarily discuss nutrition as I think its often an aspect which gets left to the S&C coach/sports scientist, especially in smaller organisations. Hope you enjoy the episode.

In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast, I am speaking with performance coach, speaker and now AUTHOR, Allistair McCaw. Allistair appeared in episode 68 of the podcast and we chatted about the release of his new book and promised to get him back on when it was done, it's now its out. Without just reviewing the book, I decided to pick a select number of areas that appear in the book and try to dig a little bit deeper so hopefully, I have done Allistair justice. I have read 7 Key to Being a Great Coach and it's an awesome read so go check out the links below.

In episode #89 of the Pacey Performance podcast, I have the unbelievable pleasure of speaking to Director of Performance at AS Roma, Darcy Norman. As a former employee of Bayern Munich and the German national team, when they won the world cup in 2014, Darcy has an incredible CV and highly respected. A massive thank you to Brett Bartholomew for making the introduction and Darcy definitely does live up to the stereotypical 'nice' Canadian.
