To stand for your principles, remain loyal to your values and protect that which is most important to you is what strengthens your character, fuels your heroism and protects your self respect.

I get that.

And yet, I’ve also learned this: no fight is worth the loss of your peace of mind.

Lose that [or your happiness or your health or your good name or your creativity's] and you’ve lost everything. 

And so, it’s all a balance, isn’t it? Pick your battles carefully. Sometimes you must defend your honor. And sometimes you need to see the larger picture and play the longer game. And just move ahead.
