Podcast Like It's ...

By Grapthar's Hammer, you shall be podcasted! We are starting the year off by taking a trip to space and talking about the excellent cult classic Star Trek parody GALAXY QUEST, starring Tim Allen, Alan Rickman, and Sigourney Weaver. And who better to join us to dissect this fun and clever geeky movie than actress and producer Felicia Day (The Guild, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dr. Horrible).
We get to talk about how committed all of the cast is to the outwardly goofy premise of the movie, the struggles to make a movie like Galaxy Quest in 2020 and how the movie interrogates fandom.

This weeks Sex and the City Saturday is exciting as we welcome Writer/Producer/Showrunnner Amy B. Harris on the show to talk about her time working on the show. We talk about the process of making SaTC, what it was like working with the cast, how to work on a show that was both reacting and creating the zeitgeist for a certain audience and her experience making The Carrie Diaries.

We are ending the year on a weird one. Kevin Klein (Stryker and Klein Radio Show) joins us to talk about Baby Geniuses.
Phil, Kenny and Kevin lost their minds talking about this strange CGI experiment of a children's movie, wonder what attracted any of the talented cast (Kathleen Turner, Christopher Lloyd among others) to slum it apart from a presumably large sum of money, and wonder how this launched an unlikely franchise.

This week, Tia Napolitano (writer, Grey's Anatomy, Station 19) joins us to talk about Four Women and a Funeral, the fifth episode of Sex and the City season 2.
We talk about funeral etiquette, Carrie getting back with Mr. Big, Samantha sleeping with the wrong guy at the wrong time, and apartment hunting.

HO HO HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS (and Happy Holidays of course). This week we are joined by Ashley Lyle (Writer: Narcos: Mexico, Dispatches From Elsewhere) to give you all a special treat and give you a taste of what we have cooking up for you in 2021.
We are talking about 1989's NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION, a preview of our upcoming series PODCAST LIKE IT'S 1989 which will launch on our upcoming Patreon launching January 11th. (Follow us on social media for further details)
Join Ashley, Kenny and Phil as we talk about Chevy Chase's career as a megastar, National Lampoon's and National Lampoon's Vacations legacy as a franchise and celebrate the season.

This week we welcome back one of our favs Dana Schwartz (Noble Blood Pod) to talk about "They Shoot Single People, Don't They?" the fourth episode of season 2 of SEX AND THE CITY. We talk about Carrie trying out single life and the show's relationship with ...um relationships, the female orgasm and the continuing raunchy adventures of Samantha Jones.

Another year, another 52 in Review. Join us as Phil and Kenny look back at our last 52 episodes of Podcast Like It's 1999 and continue to determine which are our favorite performances, movies, and moments of 1999.

This week writer Anne T Donahue joins us as we talk about Freak Show, the third episode of Sex and the City season 2.
We talk about Men (ugh amirite folks), the continuing evolution of Samantha's hornyness, the specificity of New Yorker's self obsession and our relationship with the show.

Cue the ironic Hip Hop, bust out the baseball bats.
This week, comedian Zack Bornstein (Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Kimmel Live, My Least Favorite Thing) joins us to talk about Mike Judge's cult comedy classic Office Space.
We talk about its reception at the time and the litany of marketing mistakes that surrounded it, Mike Judge's weird idiosyncratic (sort of a pun intended) career and Jennifer Aniston's movie career.

This week on Sex and the City Saturdays, TV Critic Jen Chaney (Vulture) joins us to get to the bottom of "THE AWFUL TRUTH", the second episode of Sex and the City Season 2.
We talk about leaving your lover, Carrie running her mouth and interfering with the people around her, Samantha's size shaming, and analyze the effect the ladies have on the people around them.
