Emotional wounds can take a long time to heal, but patience and effort make the process possible.
Think of caring for yourself like treating a physical injury—acknowledging the pain, giving it attention, and working on it until it mends.
When I look back at my own experiences, one thing stands out: I used to avoid dealing with emotional hurt.
I would distract myself or push it down, thinking that would make it go away, but it didn't.
