Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and’30s.

This week, we’ll be celebrating just one birthday, that of Edgar Sampson. But that certainly doesn’t mean we don’t have a whole show full of great music. The rest of this week’s segment topics flow out of last week’s show or the one before. Well, except for the one about the vocabulary word. We’ll have several musical answers to the question “What is love?”, we’ll get some reminders and we’re going to play the blame game. If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email to [email protected]. The sole birthday tribute on this week’s edition of the show belongs to Reginald Dixon, organist at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool, England for 40 years! In the first segment we’re going to get the shivers, but it has nothing to do with the upcoming celebration of Halloween. Thanks to my high school English teacher, Verna Reynolds, I know what a simile is, and in the third segment of the show I’ll play some musical similes. We’ll get some reminders in the fourth segment and we’ll finish up by making some things.  If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email to [email protected]. This week it’s a “once in a blue moon” edition of Rapidly Rotating Records as we have not one, but two segments about “blue” moons. I don’t mention it in the show, but a “blue moon” is a second full moon in a calendar month, so it’s not all that long a time span. We’re also going to check the stove pipe, cut loose and celebrate the birthday of Ian Whitcomb’s uncle. That would be Tolchard Evans. • Once in a Blue Moon – Rapidly Rotating Records 78RPM Show – Sept. 23, 2018

Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and’30s.

If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email to [email protected]. And remember, your requests and topic segments are always welcome. As always, just click on the link below to instantly listen streaming online and/or download the show.

    Enjoy the show!

  • Willard Robison – Rapidly Rotating Records 78RPM Show – Sept. 16, 2018

Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and’30s.

I’m fairly certain I’m not related to him, but tonight’s lone birthday salute is for Willard Robison. Besides, I believe his last name is pronounced with a long “o” and mine is with a short “o.” Carson Robison’s last name, by the way, is correctly pronounced with a short “o” also. Anyway, in addition to Willard Robison’s birthday salute, you’ll get taken for a ride (don’t worry, not the gangster kind of ride!), we’ll hearken back to the old west, we’ll play some nice records (ALL the records we play are nice, for that matter!) and find out about someone else. Somewhat inadvertently, we finish out the show with a recording from 1949! If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email to [email protected]. And remember, your requests and topic segments are always welcome. As always, just click on the link below to instantly listen streaming online and/or download the show.
