I get so real in this episode and share the struggles I have faced with burnout. I thought I had it all together, but that always changes with life. The only constant in life is change. However, as we all know, it is HARD AF to accept that we struggled to implement tools for a better life, have been promoting them, and now they are NOT working for us. That is where I found myself. I had to RE-CREATE everything for myself once the exhaustion set in. And now, I am passing on ALL THE THINGS I am learning to you - IRT. Because you deserve to learn the tools as quickly as I do. They might even save you from getting as mentally exhausted as I am.
✅It's funny, Alexa tells me the synonyms for burnout include : neurosis, mentally exhausted, and collapse. Lethargy, weakness, passive, sluggish, frazzled, listless, drained, worn out. And it is "funny" because people called me all these things. BUT I did NOT see it as burnout. I thought straight up - "Yeah, I AM EXHAUSTED!!" I should sleep ALL DAY. When really, my body needed a break from work and to just be taken care of by the beach 🙏🏼💗 . Take my story in any way it will serve you to serve yourself. And please, do not let yourself get as "mentally drained/worn out/exhausted" as I did.

At the time of recording this, I had the WORST NIGHT EVER - where I got NO SLEEP. Had to call in sick to work, (PTO should be SAVED for beach days so that's always disappointing ), and I felt like trash 🚮.

This episode is all about gut health and healing!! Meet Bridgitte, the founder and CEO of Gut Personal. MS, RDN, all the things, and has been studying functional medicine and nutrition for over a decade. She had been struggling with her own gut issues and decided to take matters into her own hands and now helps women like me in the process through these amazing supplements that I use every day.
This company is female founded and funded and OPERATED!! She's such an amazing person, listening to her story is amazing, seeing her in person is always uplifting. She is just SUCH a light - CANNOT WAIT for you all to hear this episode.
Self Love Tip: 💕💕
TAKE YOUR MAGNESIUM!! It's easy and delicious, so go do it. It is the best thing you can do for your sleep, for your poop, for stress. It is powerful and so easy. She explains it all at 13:05.
I asked her towards the end if we HAVE to take Magnesium at night. She explained that it is usually associated with sleep because many people take it at night. (For some, it can cause sleepiness, or the desire to poo, etc so people take it at night and wake up ready for the day)...However, her response was SO INTERESTING!!! - Magnesium can leave you feeling energized when taken in small amounts because it cancels out all that anxiety from your nervous system that is exhausting. We all know anxiety and burnout are EXHAUSTING. Listen to that tidbit at 12:10.
✅✅There will be an amazing giveaway of GUT PERSONAL products - keep watching Audrey's IG for more.

A healthy gut is EVERYTHING. This episode was so fun recording because Jillian DID NOT make me feel bad for my drive thru days after work. She GETS IT. The stress that leads to burnout to the point where we get SO EXHAUSTED that it feels like there are no options. We talk about the cycle it leads to for our health where eating bad leads to other choices that lead to less quality sleep and exhaustion due to a lack of nutrients and more and more and on and on. However, this amazing woman chats about the next steps to take with ZERO judgement. She totally walked me through getting out of a rut and back to a supportive lifestyle that holds space for the inevitable stress that comes our way, without letting it tear our bodies down.
🙏🏼Jillian Smith (RDN) is a registered dietitian with a special focus in functional medicine for the gut. She is the lead dietitian for GutPersonal, whose unique, personalized approach to wellness involves customized supplements, gut testing, and health coaching to help you achieve lasting relief. Her passion is to uncover the root cause of gut issues and get rid of symptoms — for good. For years Jillian bounced through doctor appointments, completing lab work and other tests, just to be told that everything looked "normal". Through the right testing, proper nutrition, and supplement interventions, she now helps clients heal their gut and experience life symptom-free.

The Gut Personal company founded by a functional medicine practitioner who will be on next week's episode. Juillian and Bridgette both are amazing practitioners who will teach us so much these two weeks about supportive lifestyle and gut health.

Self Love Tip: To repeat what Jillian told us, magnesium is so important everyday but especially during stressful times because we lose it. Also, she said to incorporate a probiotic since our modern lifestyle and diets do not always support that type of gut health like a probiotic does.

Do you ever feel like you are at war with yourself? We all do it tho. And here is the thing - BOTH sides are important. I was just at a mastermind in the LA/Palm Springs area and I got so much time to do both of my passions : lounge poolside and relax, plus work on my business surrounded by some business besties!!!
My takeaway?? Spend more time doing BOTH. Life is too short to not ENJOY it. In America, it is becoming the norm for work to be a passion project or even an addiction. We won't get into that, but prevent the severe stress and burnout with BALANCE. Ya'll know it is near and dear to my heart to teach about stress reduction like I do. Follow along for more, and text "SISTERHOOD" to 707 347 0723 to stay connected regarding and online community where you can network with likeminded women who are changing their lives as well. PLUS of course, LIVE coffee/mocktail chat calls and EXPERT EXPERIENCE calls where an expert facilitator comes on and pours their magical healing tools into us so we can continue the anti burnout era.

In this episode, we chat about Amanda's famous words spoken at a Galentine's Women's Conference we met at. "I am worthy, period." - After a story she spills the tea on, she found her worth and she now stands in that confidence. She has no regrets about who she is or what she desires to ask for. This story of her finding that confidence will 100% give you the inspiration to borrow some confidence from her and get after it!!!

Episode Quote:
“I find myself looking for it in outside sources and sometimes I catch myself and think like just give it to yourself.” I can tell myself “Girllll you fine as hell”.
Self Love Tip:
SCHEDULE some self care time in for yourself. She wrote a list of practices that fill her with joy like a solo movie date, or cooking her favorite meal, etc. She literally spreads these activities out throughout the month so she KNOWS she is continuously adding in self care. This way, she doesn’t have to feel that void of not caring for herself. She notes in this episode about society in general and how much shame we all have with practicing self care or taking time off, and how she has changed that thought process.

In this episode, let go of all the things we think self care should be: like a two hour massage, a month long vacation, etc. Those are nice, but not always within reach. In this episode, special guest Emily breaks self care down for us and reminds us why we do self care on the regular. It is about the little pauses in-between the chaos that make a GREAT impact on our mental load. She talks about her book which is centered around living life for ourselves rather than the expectations of our mothers. She chats about life working as a Registered Nurse and the stress associated with the job. She also speaks to her role as a coach for nurses and gives us some of the amazing tips and tools she teaches them. Most importantly, she teaches us How to reframe self care into "taking care of yourself" as a form of self-responsibility. In the sweetest way possible, she reminds us how IMPORTANT it is to care for #1.

Self Love Tip:
When ever you feel overwhelmed or anxious, take 1 to 3 deep breaths, look into your heart and remind yourself “I know you have the answers somewhere in there. I’m getting overwhelmed, I’m anxious. This is a feeling trying to tell me something.” And let it come to you from your heart through the silence. Take the deep breaths.
