Our first guest is Cara Peek. Cara is a Yawuru/Bunuba woman from Broome, Western Australia. Cara is a modern representation of the oldest living culture in the World and through her role as Chairperson of Nyamba Buru Yawuru Ltd, one of the leading Aboriginal organisations in post native title determination delivery, she can speak to the multifaceted nature of balancing a variety of interests, including cultural, environmental, social, commercial and native title. Cultural economic development and independence, social programs and enterprise are of a particular focus A lawyer by profession, having worked primarily in Native Title Law, Cara now focuses her skills as co- founder and executive director of Yum Yum & Delicious Pty Ltd & Peek Consulting. She has worked in regional communities in Australia, Canada and the USA, specializing in stakeholder liaison and engagement, relationship management, corporate social responsibility, program development & project management. Cara is also the recipient of a Churchill Fellowship, and was the 2020 Western Australian winner of the Agrifutures Woman of the Year Award.
