Anthony Albanese could become the Labor party's next national leader after challenger Chris Bowen pulled out of the race to replace Bill Shorten. The news comes as the Coalition looks set to form a majority government, after securing at least 76 seats in the House of Representatives.

Bu kararla, Anthony Albanese, İşçi Partisi’nin yeni lideri olmak için tek ve en favori aday. Pazartesi sabahına kadar başka aday çıkmazsa, Albanese otomatik olarak yeni muhalefet lideri olacak.

Chris Bowen’ın sahadan çekilmesi sonrasında, Anthony Albanese, bir sonraki İşçi Partisi liderliği yarışında şu anda tek aday ve favori. Ancak Jim Chalmer’ın da yarışa sonradan katılmasına kesin gözüyle bakılıyor.

While some said, they would like to see a women lead the Labor Party, others believe enshrining the foundation values of the movement should be the objective of the next leader.

Levent Efe says the surprise Coalition victory was not a surprise at all, noting that Labor complacency and the failure of the polling companies to take a good measure of the public mood was the reason why the pundits were shocked.
