The most pressing issue impacting the labor market is the shortage of skilled workers, with a projected deficit of 85 million skilled workers globally by 2030. This shortage is causing challenges for businesses, including staffing and recruiting agencies, in finding talent for open positions. One solution is to tap into the labor market, particularly women who are currently underrepresented in the workforce. The cost of childcare is a significant barrier for women returning to work. Retention is also a critical issue, as the cost of replacing employees can be up to 400% of their annual salary. Developing transformational leaders is key to retaining employees and preparing for the retirement of upper-level management. The staffing and recruiting industry has a huge opportunity to address the talent shortage and differentiate themselves by focusing on leadership development and creating a culture of learning.
