August 16, 2019Sabbaticals + Work | 208This summer I took a whole month off my work and stepped away from all screens. (Spoiler: it was fantastic!) In this chat with Crystal, I get into both the professional and personal lessons I learned. Crystal is also self-employed (but in a different way), so she talks about the value of knowing yourself really well so you can focus on the right type of work for you. She’s learned a ton over the years what’s important to her, and thinks we can all benefit from thinking through this stuff. August 09, 2019At Home in China | 207A few years ago, Tsh and her family spent a school year traveling around the world in one direction, living out of backpacks. It was life-changing for all five of them, and what travel taught Tsh about home that year is the theme of her travel memoir, At Home in the World: Reflections on Belonging While Wandering the Globe. In this episode, Tsh shares the audiobook chapter from when they were in China, just beginning their adventure and everything, inside and out, was upside-down.
