Jordyn is a 30yo primary school teacher who is pregnant and about to become a mother for the first time. With known infertility issues and previous attempts to conceive, Jordyn knew that her journey to become a mother would not be something simple and straightforward.

Jordyn had been single for years and years and decided to stop waiting for “Mr Right” and start this process on her own. Raised herself by a single mother and inspired by close friends who too were single Mothers she knew that while this would of course be a challenging journey, it could also be life-changing and full of so much love and joy.

In this episode, Jordyn walks us through her IVF and sperm donor experience, the costs, procedures and hurdles along the way and how she has coped throughout. We chat about her incredible family and support system but also the isolating realities of choosing to do this alone.

This story and experience may be unique to some but it's something Jordyn is incredibly proud to share and advocate for and in sharing her story she hopes her child will grow up in a world where this decision is more common and accepted in society.
