In this video Professor Robbins discusses the work his lab is doing, investigate what makes centenarians different at the genetic level and then to develop drugs which can mimic these differences. One of these differences is in SIRT6 and he talks about what they are doing to better understand this in collaboration with Prof Vera Gorbunova and colleagues at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Robbins is a Professor of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics and Associate Director of the Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism (iBAM) at the University of Minnesota.

He was part of a collaborative team that was the first to identify senotherapeutic compounds, able to reduce the senescent cell burden and extend healthspan and lifespan in mouse models that are now in more than 15 clinical trials.
