Every person I speak to has his or her own unique story of when and how this pandemic hit them, and each is so distinctly beautiful and different. So in this Connection thru Chaos series, I want to give people the chance to share their firsthand accounts. In this episode, we’ll hear from no other than THE Jen Casey.
Jen is a Brain-Based Business Coach, and she works with other online coaches who want to build, sell, and effectively run high-level coaching programs. She also does a whole lot of fun stuff within the field of NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) and hypnosis and sprinkles all of that expertise into the way in which she approaches building a business.
In today’s episode, though, Jen and I talk about what it's like living - and moving homes! - in New York City during this pandemic.
Jen was actually hosting a mastermind class when the crisis unfolded and her life has felt pretty nonstop ever since. Jen’s biggest concern going into the event was about the emotional and mental state of everyone who was going to attend, but she hoped to create a safe space where everybody could really do the work that needed to be done and go home feeling recharged. Thankfully, that’s exactly how the event went down.
For Jen, this trying time is actually what she’s been training and preparing for, as a leader and a coach. She’s always wanted to have plenty of tools in her metaphorical toolbox to work with, to be able to respond to each situation accordingly and make the necessary shifts and pivots based on what was going on.
Ultimately, Jen has a few takeaways from this pandemic so far. First, we can all take this time to learn how to deepen our trust in one another and come together against a common enemy.
Secondly, we’re at a point where companies need to innovate in their messaging, businesses, and even their personal relationships while trying to work from home with kids. But needing to innovate in every area of our lives can be extremely mentally taxing. So it’s perfectly alright to give yourself permission to rest so that you can continue to evolve and do what you need to do.
Rest is just as important as work, that’s what we all tend to forget.

Every person I speak to has his or her own unique story of when and how this pandemic hit them, and each is so distinctly beautiful and different. So in this Connection thru Chaos series, I want to give people the chance to share their firsthand accounts. In this episode, we’ll hear from the freakin’ incredible Ms. Justine Buroker.
Justine does everything and anything yet still finds time to run her own business. Besides being a wife and mom of two, she is launching a full-time coaching business while also having a full-time job in cancer research at the Mayo Clinic. I thought it would be really great to include Justine in this Connection Thru Chaos series so that she can share how she’s finding balance during this challenging time.
One of the most helpful strategies Justine has found is going back to basics and prioritizing self care. Despite being someone who loves to exercise, Justine ran out of steam recently and doesn’t feel like doing anything outside. So she totally revamped her morning routine to include yoga, journal writing, and Oracle cards before Justine starts on any work. And even once she starts work, Justine takes breaks to go outside and get fresh air when she needs to escape from the pressure of work and everything else going on.
Despite the challenges she’s experiencing now, Justine also made a point of reflecting on how this pandemic has the positive effect of totally shifting on perspective on a lot of things. It can trigger a lot of realizations and cause us to appreciate everything so much more.
Justine’s biggest piece of advice? “You’re not supposed to take on the energy of the world or the energy that is surrounding you right now. You need to give yourself some grace, do the things that make you happy, and allow life to unfold as it’s supposed to.”

Every person I speak to has his or her own unique story of when and how this pandemic hit them, and each is so distinctly beautiful and different. So in this Connection thru Chaos series, I want to give people the chance to share their firsthand accounts. In this episode, we’ll hear from my friend, veterinary technician Ms. Monica Nainy Hijar.
When asked about adjustments she’s had to make since the outbreak of the Covid-19 became a full-blown pandemic, Monica discussed tweaks to the schedule of the animal hospital where she works. People had started to cancel their appointments, and in response, the management began exploring options like closing early, starting later in the day, or shutting down the entire establishment completely.
According to Monica, you can feel the tension at her work. They went from having client appointments every half hour to putting up signs in their parking lot and front door that says, “Do not come in.” Nowadays, workers step outside in protective gear to attend to clients’ pets.
During hard times like this, Monica is grateful for the clients who have remained supportive despite the changes and who appreciate the care Monica and her coworkers provide their beloved pets.
The most impressive part of this interview was learning that Monica uses work as a de-stressor. According to Monica, while she’s at work, the feeling of being in a panic situation shuts off. That is how much she loves her job and how dedicated she is to still strengthening her connections with others at this time.

Every person I speak to has his or her own unique story of when and how this pandemic hit them, and each is so distinctly beautiful and different. So in this Connection Thru Chaos series, I want to give people the chance to share their firsthand accounts. In this episode, we’ll hear from my business partner and good friend, Ms. Tara Counterman.
For Tara, one of her biggest triggers during this pandemic is seeing empty shelves at the grocery store. After all, it’s something that we haven’t witnessed before, at least in our lifetime. And grocery stores are extra stressful since people are panic-buying and not following social distancing orders.
An additional challenge for Tara is that these kinds of drastic changes seemed to take place overnight. One moment Tara and I were having a great time at a Mastermind in San Diego. The next, the world seemed to flip on its axis as coaches started to cancel huge events and people started canceling their RSVPs.
During the chaos, Tara remembers thinking she needed to step up as a leader and address what was going on to her team. So she gave them much-needed assurances that they were all going to be fine and that her online business would remain the way it was.
In Tara’s mind, you can view the situation we’re all going through in one of two ways. It can be an obstacle you allow to debilitate your business because you don’t feel like you can show up during this hard time...or it can be a time period where opportunity is abundant as long as you’re daring enough to take advantage of it.

Every person I speak to has his or her own unique story of when and how this pandemic hit them, and each is so distinctly beautiful and different. So in this Connection through Chaos series, I want to give people the chance to share their firsthand accounts. In this episode, we’ll hear from my good friend, health and fitness coach Ms. Daria Sambey.
For Daria, one of the biggest effects of the pandemic on her life is how drastically her routine has changed. People can’t go to the gym at the moment, and being a fitness coach, the closure of these fitness centers has definitely impacted Daria’s business. Now, she’s trying to establish a new routine that works for her and the entire family.
And she’s not alone. Right now, everybody is making that attempt to create some sense of normalcy. People have been trying to find creative ways to enjoy physical activity or bonding time outside the house while all the rec centers and outdoor areas are completely closed down and won’t be reopened for another few months. While it hasn’t been exactly difficult for Daria to do other activities like getting groceries and supplies, her main struggle lies in finding a creative and energetic outlet - a struggle many people of all ages can relate to.
At the beginning of this pandemic, everyone was treading lightly. As it intensified, however, we began to realize that major sh*t is going down. That’s why Daria’s concluding message during our conversation was so powerful. Because as many struggles as we might be facing, it is important to keep making some kind of forward movement and to eventually pick yourself up and start doing things that will not only keep you busy but also serve your clients and community.

“People need f*cking support right now. People need mindset work right now. People need community and guidance and love right now.”
On this episode of the Fierce as F*ck Podcast, our discussion will center around how to show up in a big way and conquer your fears during this pandemic.
I will share with you the process I went through in coming up with my brand new program.
We are all struggling at the moment as a society. We are struggling as entrepreneurs, but more importantly, we are struggling with mindset.
Originally, my other program was supposed to be released later this year. I choose to not f*cking wait anymore. Now is the time to have that course, now is the time to move.
Since all of us have more time in our hands, now is the perfect opportunity to finally take that leap and dive into that program you’ve been putting off. Now is the time to implement it, to finish it, and have the transformation that you’ve always hoped for and dreamed of.

“It is so vital for you all to know that in order for your business to be a legitimate business, in order for it to grow and prosper, you are going to have to spend money.”
This week on the Fierce as F*ck Podcast, our discussion will revolve around answering the question, “Why is investing money an important part of growing and expanding my business?”
If you’re an entrepreneur and the proud owner of your own business, particularly a startup company, who just jumped into the entrepreneur world, you’d be pretty reluctant to spend on things that you deem unnecessary. Therefore, having that can-do mentality is a common occurrence. You end up doing everything and anything that your business requires even if you don’t have to. The reason behind this usually has nothing to do with an abundance of your time or surplus of your expertise, but more about your refusal to delegate tasks because you want to have as much of a profit as possible.
A change in perspective is in order. I’m telling you now that first, you need to let go of your fear of losing control. I get that spending your hard-earned money is scary, but once you get past that and realize that spending more will only mean good things for your business, you won’t be as hard-pressed to invest.
Bottomline is, every dollar you spend on meaningful investments will yield exponential dividends for your business in the long run.

“When we tell people that they need to be consistent in their business, consistency is taken to the extreme. It's almost like you can't show up at all or you have to show up for 365 days a year. Just know that it doesn't fly, it doesn't work. Let me tell you this, you can do Facebook lives for 365 days and your business might not grow.”
This week on the Fierce as F*ck Podcast, our discussion is going to center around the topic of having consistency in our business in order to foster and develop trust with our clients and audience.
The type of consistency that I am trying to promote here may not be what you think. Thankfully, it doesn’t involve you doing live videos for the next 365 days. The consistency I am referring to actually has more to do with having a clear consistent message that you can always deliver to your audience, regardless of how or where you are showing up. Even if you go live every day, if you cannot deliver a consistent message your audience resonates with, it isn’t an assurance that your business will see exponential growth. That’s not all there is to it.
You may go ahead and talk about anything and everything under the sun for an entire year and still fail to see growth in your business. You may opt to do a live video just once a year, but if you’ll have people reacting like,” what did she just say?”, more or less you and your business are in pretty good shape.
Having a clear message and brand, these are exactly what you need to get people's attention and grow an engaged audience.

“When people sit here, and I used to say things like, “Oh, I thrive when I'm stressed out. I'm super great in high-pressure environments. I need to be stressed out in order to be successful.” When [stress] is something that is so close to your heart that you actually are a little bit proud of that aspect of your identity."
This week on the Fierce as F*ck Podcast, we will have a little discussion about inner work and mindset work. I think what’s happening is, the definition of these two are becoming lost as it is becoming more mainstream for people to talk about it.
We’re going to change that today by answering some of the following questions:
being in a high vibe?
being in a highest self state of mind?
Taking into account your answers from the above questions, I want to share this one truth with you, inner work is key. Mindset and inner work go hand in hand, and they’re both required to take your business to the next level. More importantly, your life as a whole. They both are NOT optional.
The good thing about it is, turning your entire life around is an opportunity you can take advantage of right now. It’s your choice. It’s your decision to make.
