Infinite Receiving

Stop Asking This Question

Listen Later

Hello, hello you gorgeous human being.

I’ve got a short, sharp and potent one for you today.

The kind of episode that slips under the radar... but changes how you think, how you lead, and how you show up.

Now, before we dive in - as we prepare for Infinite Receiving Live, it feels important to revisit this one. Why? Because this episode was recorded around the time I was reflecting deeply on the woman who helped open the gateway to a whole new level of receiving in my life…

She’s a friend. She’s a mentor.

And she’s the incredible woman who wrote the foreword to the Infinite Receiving book -  Denise Duffield-Thomas.

So this episode? It’s not just a mindset reframe.
It’s a frequency shift.

Let’s talk about one of the most sneaky, self-sabotaging questions I hear people ask all the time...

"Why am I like this?"

And I’m calling it out - because 99% of the time, you’re not asking from a place of genuine curiosity.

You’re asking because you want to confirm your own BS story.
You’re trying to find fault - either in yourself, or in someone else.

But what if I told you…
The fastest path to elevation is to stop asking “Why?”
…and start asking “What?” and “Who?”

  • What am I feeling right now?
  • What belief is driving this behaviour?
  • What would make sense from their perspective?
  • Who do I need to become to change this reality?

When you flip the script like that, you interrupt the loop, shift your energy, and step into your power.

This episode is your reminder that compassion is the portal, and identity work is the rocket fuel.

Let’s go there. Let’s flip “Why” into wisdom.

QUOTES:

  • “Stop looking for what’s wrong. Start asking what’s really going on beneath the surface—and everything shifts.”
  • “Why am I like this? is code for ‘please confirm my brokenness.’ That’s not who you are. Ask a better question.”
  • “Compassion creates space. And space is where your next level lives.”

HIGHLIGHTS:

01:50 – Why asking “Why?” rarely leads to growth (and often feeds your ego's negative loop)

04:57 – The real power of asking “What need is this person trying to meet?”

10:30 – How to shift out of sabotage with this identity-based reframe: “Who do I need to become right now?”
