While Bianca stands as a beloved fixture in the Wayside community, graciously serving both those who give and those in need, her own life has travelled a varied path that has seen her take on diverse roles ranging from fruit picker to young mum to aspiring actress. Bianca’s fashion choices may also have followed various twists and turns but it’s always been her style to consider community and add a little vintage charm to her look.

November 08, 2020 Introducing Season 3
It’s needless to say that 2020 has been a challenging year for most but a personal highlight has been finding my new creative home in the historic district of Potts Point in Sydney. For Season 3 of Style Stories I wanted to honour this vibrant community and celebrate coming together.
What better way to do this than to partner with a community organisation that brings life and laughter to those who need it most, like the Wayside Chapel, the heart and soul of Potts Point, a Sydney village which has been likened to New York and Paris.
Like these great cities, Wayside joyfully embraces diversity and brings together all walks of life in many creative ways but notably through it’s Op Shop, which is renown for being a treasure trove of donated designer digs as well as a vital source of support for the organisation.
Of course I talk all things style with my guests this season however I also hope to honour their stories by highlighting their contribution to their community not only through their creative pursuits but by looking good, feeling good and most significantly doing good.
To help introduce Season 3, I spoke with CEO and Pastor of the Wayside Chapel, Jon Owen, whose human spirit and contribution to community echoes through all the upcoming episodes of Style Stories. I hope you can sit back relax and enjoy our conversation.

October 08, 2020 Concluding Season 2
Season 2 has come to a close and as I conclude this series it has been announced that Lucio’s will be closing it’s Paddington doors in a few short months. It’s been a pleasure to call Lucio’s home for Season 2 and relishing all the tales of food, family and art it tells within it’s walls. It will be sad to say good-bye to such an institution but it feels special to play a humble yet timely part in it’s story.

This season has been a riot of fun, fashion, and food and it’s been a pleasure to talk to some of the movers and shakers operating within and around the tight-knit food community that exists within Sydney. I look forward to discovering more Style Stories and further exploring this sense of community in Season 3.

And it’s this delicious mix of contrasting ingredients that makes Silvia’s style so intriguing and so enticing.

In episode five of season two, I chat with Stavroula Adameitis, artist & designer better known by her moniker Frida Las Vegas. Hailing from Adelaide, Stav’s kitsch and clever designs are personal hallmarks of her history and offer nostalgic references to her beloved ‘Oz-traliana’. If Chico Rolls, Passiona, and the much-shunned bin chicken resonate with your Australian sensibilities, you’ll be sure to glean joy from Stav’s bombastic designs. It’s hard to separate Stav from Frida but either way, she wears her heart on her sleeve and exudes a delicious self-confidence we’d all like to get a taste of.

In episode three of season two, I chat with fashion designer, Gary Bigeni, known in the industry as much for his considerate hand on draping as he is for his flamboyant personal style. Whilst Gary’s designs pay reverence to a women’s shape, they also embrace his love of art and sometimes food, making him an ideal guest at Lucio’s. Having designed chefs uniforms, Gary is almost as popular in the food community as he is in the fashion world and sites Melissa Leong of Masterchef fame as one of his nearest and dearest. Despite the colourful bravado, it’s his grounded nature and hard-working ethos that makes him so likable and helps us come to understand the pure joy that comes with his bright and sometimes brazen style.

In episode two of season two, I chat with Briony Fitzgerald, Sydney-based Interior Designer, known for layering her masterful application of colour, fabric and texture to many beautiful homes and the occasional Michelin-star restaurant. Briony lays claim to being the daughter of late television pioneer Bruce Gyngell and revered interior designer, Ann Gyngell. Despite the bright lights and bold colour that fabricated Briony’s childhood she’s developed a tailored and understated style and saves the bells and whistles to her designs, allowing her work to be the star of the show.

And it’s this energetic and soulful grit that feeds through all Ali does, whether it be PR girl, restaurant owner, or mum. But most importantly it defines her unique sense of style.

The inspiration for Season 2 of Style Stories was born out of a desire to get out of the house, however, in choosing a location it was important to find a place that had style and charm but still felt like home. Naturally, I was beyond thrilled when the iconic restaurant Lucio’s generously invited me into their family-run business to film and record this series.
Lucio’s is a personal family favourite for a few reasons, namely, it holds memories of a heavily pregnant me having my last long lunch just prior to giving birth to each of my children.
Anyone who has had the pleasure of dining there can give testament to its innate style which pervades through its traditional culinary delights, the art-filled walls, and warmly felt family-run hospitality especially from the man himself Lucio Galletto.
As an introduction to the series, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Lucio where he proudly speaks of his restaurant as a lifestyle. A lifestyle that’s beautifully brought together with his Ligurian heritage, his devotion to food, his passion for art, and his beloved family.
