In today's episode I'm joined by my special guest Dr Adaure Osuji who is a GP in Australia and like myself likes to focus on helping patients with chronic diseases, chronic pain, chronic problems and has a holistic approach to her care.

Like many others Adaure became somewhat disillusioned with the standard medical system, especially the habit of short quick consults and rushing for prescribing.

Dr Adaure soon realised it was better for her to become a health coach and has left mainstream General Practice, in part due to the risk and fear of being punished for _daring to help patients_ by spending longer with them. This is a concern many of us doing this work share.

Dr Adaure and I discuss many things in this episode including:

- Weight

- Hormones, menstrual health, painful periods and irregular periods

- Restrictions on foreign doctors here in Australia

- The downsides of short quick consults

- Doctors being punished for speaking out on diet or spending time with their patients

- Health coaching vs being a GP
