On this episode of Supply Chain Now, Scott welcomes Allison Sheffield de Aguero and Fernando de Aguero to the podcast.

Allison Sheffield de Aguero is the president and CEO of Diversified Energy Supply. She is a third-generation petroleum fuel businesswoman. Upon completing her undergraduate education, she entered the workforce as an international sales representative selling engineering equipment and software in the Latin American market. She completed her graduate work in 2003. Beginning in 2004, Allison and her husband pursued entrepreneurial ventures in retail energy (both power and natural gas). During the period between 2011 and 2014, she focused on marketing efforts to build Diversified Energy Supply into a nationwide wholesale petroleum, electric power and natural gas supplier.

During 2014 she assumed the role of CEO and sole member and has further shaped the strategic direction of the company by expanding its fuel supply business line and scaling the operational platform into 40+ states. She is married and the proud mother of four children.

Fernando de Aguero is the Chief Operating Officer of Diversified Energy Supply. He possesses a broad energy industry experience ranging from petroleum commodity supply to regulated utilities to deregulated merchant and retail energy. He has launched six privately held energy ventures, was Chairman, CEO and President of a deregulated retail natural gas marketer, Manager and CEO of a deregulated retail electric provider, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of a leading smart grid-enabled prepaid utility solutions and software development company and held various leadership roles spanning strategic planning, finance, business development, commercial operations and trading at AGL Resources (Atlanta Gas Light, Virginia Natural Gas, City Gas of Florida, Elizabethtown Gas, Chattanooga Gas, Pivotal and Sequent Energy Management), Mirant Corporation and Southern Company (Southern Nuclear and Southern Company Services). Mr. de Aguero built and launched Mansfield Power and Gas, the power and natural gas company affiliate to Mansfield Oil Company. Mr. de Agüero previously led the team that designed and built the first prepaid retail natural gas billing platform in North America, the first smart-metered prepaid electric billing platform, as well as other software based solutions in the utility vertical. He has been involved in several power plant development projects and corporate acquisitions with negotiated valuations totalling over $10 Billion in both the natural gas and electric industries. Mr. de Agüero started his career with Southern Company in 1993, working in nuclear plant design engineering and safety as a nuclear engineer and mechanical engineer, as well as a health physicist. He earned a Bachelor in Nuclear Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He speaks Spanish fluently, has a history of political and community involvement, and invests most of his personal time with his wife, four children and church family in Roswell, Georgia.

In this episode of the Supply Chain Buzz on Supply Chain Now, Scott and Greg welcome Bobby Holland and Eric Olson to the podcast to discuss the U.S. Bank Q3 Freight Payment Index.

Bobby Holland is responsible for the Freight Data Solutions team at U.S. Bank. Bobby has over 36 years of broad-based data processing, software engineering and consulting experience. He has leadership in multiple industries including insurance, large-scale billing, customer care services and banking. His specialties include systems integration, enterprise applications architecture, agile methodology, DevOps practice, systems engineering, object-oriented development, analytics, and product and project management. Bobby’s current focus is in analytics and data-related product management for the freight industry. Bobby holds a degree in Computer Science from Metropolitan State University.

Eric Olson is currently Outside Sales Manager at Total Quality Logistics (TQL). Eric leads a team focused on face-to-face interactions with potential clients. He also supports relationships with TQL’s largest clients and certain key vendors.

In his 14 years at TQL, Eric has held roles in business development, risk management, product management and in finance. This experience allows him to play a key role in translating and communicating the complexities of the business relationships in the industry both within TQL, and externally to clients. Eric is a graduate of the University of Dayton and lives and works in TQL’s home city of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In today's episode of Supply Chain Now, Scott welcomes Page Siplon, John Heard, and Yinka Ajirotutu to the podcast.

Prior to joining TeamOne Logistics, Page Siplon served as the Executive Director of the Georgia Center of Innovation for Logistics, the State’s leading consulting resource for fueling logistics industry growth and global competitiveness. For over a decade, he directly assisted hundreds of companies to overcome challenges and capitalize on opportunities related to the movement of freight. During this time, Siplon was also appointed to concurrently serve the State of Georgia as Director of the larger Centers of Innovation Program, in which he provided executive leadership and vision for all six strategic industry-focused Centers. As a frequently requested keynote speaker, Siplon is called upon to address a range of audiences on unique aspects of technology, workforce, and logistics. This often includes topics of global and domestic logistics trends, supply chain visibility, collaboration, and strategic planning. He has also been quoted as an industry expert in publications such as Forbes, Journal of Commerce, Fortune, NPR, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, American Express, DC Velocity, Area Development Magazine, Site Selection Magazine, Inbound Logistics, Modern Material Handling, and is frequently a live special guest on SiriusXM's Road Dog Radio Show. Siplon is an active industry participant, recognized by DC Velocity Magazine as a “2012 Logistics Rainmaker” which annually identifies the top-ten logistics professionals in the Nation; and named a “Pro to Know” by Supply & Demand Executive Magazine in 2014. Siplon was also selected by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential Georgians” for 2013, 2014, and 2015. He also serves various industry leadership roles at both the State and Federal level. Governor Nathan Deal nominated Siplon to represent Georgia on a National Supply Chain Competitiveness Advisory Committee, where he was appointed to a two-year term by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and was then appointed to serve as its vice-chairman. At the State level, he was selected by then-Governor Sonny Perdue to serve as lead consultant on the Commission for New Georgia’s Freight and Logistics Task Force. In this effort, Siplon led a Private Sector Advisory Committee with invited executives from a range of private sector stakeholders including UPS, Coca-Cola, The Home Depot, Delta Airlines, Georgia Pacific, CSX, and Norfolk Southern. Siplon honorably served a combined 12 years in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force. During this time, he led the integration of encryption techniques and deployed cryptographic devices for tactically secure voice and data platforms in critical ground-to-air communication systems. This service included support for all branches of the Department of Defense, multiple federal security agencies, and aiding NASA with multiple Space Shuttle launches. Originally from New York, Siplon received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering with a focus on digital signal processing from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned an associate’s degree in advanced electronic systems from the Air Force College and completed multiple military leadership academies in both the Marines and Air Force. Siplon currently lives in Cumming, Georgia (north of Atlanta), with his wife Jan, and two children Thomas (19) and Lily (15).

Oluyinka Ajirotutu (Yinka) is an accomplished healthcare leader, established public speaker and mental health advocate. With over 12 years of experience, Yinka has worked at some of the top healthcare organizations in the country such as Mayo Clinic and the University of Chicago Hospitals. Wasim was born and raised in New Jersey and attended Rider University where he received a degree in Business Administration. After college, Wasim joined the recruitment field with tech agencies in NJ/NYC. After three successful years on the agency side, Wasim took an opportunity as an internal Talent Acquisition Specialist with a major 3pl. This episode of Supply Chain Now features Mark Morley. Mark Morley Following completion of a Master of Science Degree in Computer Aided Engineering at Cranfield University in 1992, Mark joined the CAD/CAM software company Computervision as a solutions consultant. Following an acquisition by PTC in 1997 Mark took a small career break and went to work for the McLaren Formula One race team as a technology partner manager looking after the marketing activities of the technology sponsors to the team. Mark returned to PTC as an International Marketing Manager in September 1999 with a responsibility of establishing a global network of software demo centres. Following restructuring of PTC in 2003, Mark decided to take an MBA at Warwick Business School with a focus on marketing and a dissertation that looked at establishing a Space Tourism business. Following completion of the MBA, Mark joined GXS, a supply chain integration solution provider as an Industry Marketing Director focused on the Automotive sector in 2006 and then in 2014 OpenText acquired GXS. Today, Mark is Product Marketing Director for Business Network, a provider of cloud based integration solutions.

Each year The Empty Stocking Fund brings JOY to the lives of 50,000 disadvantaged children throughout the Atlanta metro area. With COVID-19 impacting the 2020 Holiday season, it was time for a rapid transformation of the Santa Village Supply Chain. In this episode of TEKTOK, powered by Supply Chain Now, host Karin Bursa interviews Manda Hunt, the Executive Director of The Empty Stocking Fund. Hear how The Empty Stocking Fund transformed from a brick and mortar model with a single point of gift selection and distribution to an online virtual gift selection and a network of approximately 30 distribution points. The new model will ensure 50,000 children receive holiday JOY while keeping eligible families and volunteers safe. The rapid transformation rolled out in just six months and impacted every aspect of the nearly 100-year old charity including: new physical distribution center, inventory management software, online gift selection, pick-pack-ship process. And if that's not enough, they also rolled out a new back to school program for school supplies during the midst of COVID-19. Listen up for some inspiration and motivation. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Manda Hunt is the Executive Director of The Empty Stocking Fund. Manda has nearly 20 years of marketing communications and public relations experience from companies like Jackson Spalding, MagnetBank and even her own PR company. She began working with The Empty Stocking Fund in 2004, and in 2010, she took over as executive director. Each year, Manda fearlessly leads The Empty Stocking Fund toward success, from budgeting and financial reporting to toy and gift sourcing to volunteer coordination and fundraising. Originally from the Tampa Bay area, Manda has lived in Atlanta since 2000 and is an avid (and admittedly obnoxious) Florida State Seminoles fan.

Duncan Klett is a Fellow and Co-founder of Kinaxis (established in 1984), whose product RapidResponse, offers an interactive tool for supply chain management. As a certified professional engineer, B.A.Sc, M.A.Sc Electrical, he has more that 35 years experience with analytics and software solutions. Duncan now acts on the Strategy team as a liaison amongst supply chain practitioners, researchers, the Kinaxis design team and executives. Prior to starting Kinaxis, Duncan held various positions developing real-time and computer-aided design systems with Bell Northern Research and Mitel Corporation. He also has been involved with several professional and community organizations and regularly gives lectures at universities and industry events.

On today's episode of Supply Chain Now, Scott and Greg welcome John Holly to the podcast. John Holly is a lifelong human resources professional. John is a BBA graduate of Clark College (known now as Clark Atlanta University). Also, he is a graduate of the 67th session of the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. John had a long tenure with Georgia Power and its parent company, The Southern Company, before moving into the foodservices industry working for companies such as AFC Enterprises, parent company to a number of iconic foodservices brands. While at AFC Enterprises, John received the 1999 AFC Spirit Award. His last role there was a Vice-President of People Services for the Cinnabon brand. From 2005 through 2016, John was a human resources leader with Cox Communications. While there he provided HR leadership during the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent successful recovery of that system. After Cox, John joined Kumho Tire Group (tire manufacturer in Macon, GA), serving as Deputy Chief People Officer. At Kumho, John and the team revised the employee handbook, guided the development of a salary and compensation system, improved the training process, and worked on labor relations issues. Presently John is an Executive Human Resources Consultant. In 2019 he led the successful placement process for the inaugural Executive Director for an Atlanta non-profit organization. Presently he is an interim Human Resources Director for a client in addition to other HR projects.

Today on Supply Chain Now, Scott and Greg welcome Phil Rich to the podcast. Phil Rich is a 20+ year veteran of the music industry with an incredibly broad experience in retail sales, training, merchandising, purchasing, marketing, promotions, and strategic management. His primary responsibilities at Sweetwater include working with his team to determine what brands and products the company carries, and overall management of Sweetwater’s incredible inventory selection. Right out of high school, Phil served in the US Navy for 8 years including a year at sea aboard USS Midway during Desert Shield/Storm, and then later as a guitarist and live sound engineer for the Navy Band. Phil continues to play guitar professionally and performs regularly with several groups in the Fort Wayne area. He also has significant experience as an audio engineer and is a graduate of the University of Washington's audio production program. Prior to joining Sweetwater in 2011, Phil spent 14 years working for Guitar Center as vice president of merchandising and in other roles including district sales manager and director of training. Growing up with his father in aviation, Phil's love for flying led him to become an instrument-rated pilot. He volunteers regularly with the local EAA Young Eagles program, bringing the experience of flight to local youth.
