Daniel Wilson, Jr. is a rising senior at The University of Georgia double majoring in Supply Chain Management & Economics. He is currently interning at Georgia-Pacific LLC and has previous experience in supply chain/operations with Augusta National Golf Club & UGA Athletics Association (Football). He, also, is a member of the UGA Supply Chain Advisory Board, UGA Management Society, and will be piloting a new Supply Chain Analytics Course in the fall with Dr. Jan Zantinga. Roby Redwine is a rising senior graduating in December of 2019. While pursuing a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Operations and Supply Chain, Roby is also tacking on a minor in Horticulture. He has spent most of his time outside of academic pursuits honing artisan skills as a cook in multiple local Athens restaurants, or pursuing his own small-scale horticulture business. He has already had proven experience as a greenhouse management and nursery operations intern and is currently focusing on major-related challenges as a procurement/logistics specialist for Fire and Flavor. Post-graduation, he will be seeking a career in the field of supply chain that will ideally allow him to pair a passion for food with a desire to source and efficiently manage the transportation logistics of meat and produce as is required to provide the freshest, safest, highest quality ingredients to professional food operations as well as the end consumer. Dr. Troy A. Montgomery is a performance improvement professional focused on identifying business opportunities, solving problems, improving operations, and working with executive leaders to implement solutions for change. In this episode we are speaking with Don Ratliff, recipient of the Supply Chain Pioneer recognition at the 2019 Atlanta Supply Chain Awards. Don discusses his career successes starting with a degree in industrial engineering at the University of Alabama, founding and selling a company, and his impact on the supply chain community in Atlanta and beyond.

Donald Ratliff is a Regents' Professor Emeritus in Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech and Co-Executive Director of the Georgia Tech Panama Logistics Innovation & Research Center. Dr. Ratliff's research and logistics competencies include intermodal network design, supply chain integration, delivery strategies, cross docking, vender managed resupply, real-time routing, shipment planning, logistics performance measurement, and container port operations. During the past 20 years, Dr. Ratliff has supervised one of the largest logistics research programs in the world. Concepts developed by him and his colleagues have been implemented in decision support systems for logistics network design, shipment planning, production scheduling, and vehicle routing. He is widely published and has given more than 150 invited logistics presentations. Dr. Ratliff also has extensive logistics consulting experience and was a co-founder of CAPS Logistics, a company specializing in flexible logistics software. Dr. Ratliff currently serves as the chair of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on the Future of Logistics & Supply Chains.Dr. Ratliff was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1996 and is a fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He received IIE's 1991 "Outstanding Research Award" for his work in logistics. Dr. Ratliff received B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Alabama. In 1970 he received a Ph.D. in operations research from Johns Hopkins University and in 1978 he joined the Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering faculty at Georgia Tech.

Chris Barnes is a professional education instructor for the Georgia Tech Supply Chain & Logistics Institute’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) and University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Center for Professional Education certificate courses. Barnes holds a B.S., Industrial Engineering and Economics Minor, from Bradley University, an MBA in Industrial Psychology with Honors from the University of West Florida. He is a certified APICS instructor and is one of the rare few holding CPIM-F, CLTD-F and CSCP-F designations. He served on the international Board of Trustees for the Institute of Industrial Engineers, is Past President of WERC Atlanta, and is currently involved with APICS Atlanta. Most recently, she has led a team of out-of-box thinkers and ambitious partners in the implementation of wearable technology solutions on the manufacturing plant floor. She is also the 2014 recipient of the Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Award from the Manufacturing Institute, awarded to honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers.

Ms. Gulick holds a Masters of Business Administration in Global Business She earned a BS in Computer Science from Clarke University in Dubuque, IA, where she received the Most Distinguished Alumni for Outstanding Achievement in 2016.
