So why am I always talking about narcissistic abuse and how to recover from it? And why do I keep talking about it? Because I'm a survivor myself.

You might wonder why I so often write about narcissism and toxic relationships. A lot of people have asked me to tell my story – the story of my own narcissistic abuse – and I never have before. As someone who has been involved in narcissistic relationships in my life and survived, I feel compelled to share my experiences, at least to the extent that they are valuable to my readers. I don't usually tell my story, but as a journalist and a seasoned researcher, it's in my nature to learn about things that concern me.

That would include a narcissistic mother, a narcissistic husband and more - plenty of gaslighting and other abuse from people who seemed to have narcissistic personality disorder, or NPD.
