What if I told you that every month at Active Life we hear from physical therapists, chiropractors, PTAs, nurses, and other medical professionals that they want to switch careers and become an ALP...? They don't want to become a personal trainer, they don't want to become a coach, they want to become an ALP, an Active Life Professional. They find us, we do not need to go finding them.
In this episode Dr. Sean and Larry chop it up about what it takes to go all in on yourself, take outsized action, and overwhelm your problems to get the career, and life you want.

Our beliefs form our behavior. This means that when our behavior is not eliciting the results we are looking for, we need to evaluate the beliefs that lead to us adopting behavior in the first place. Our thesis: The fitness community has built a belief set that is not garnering the desired results. We can either blame people for not participating, or we can ask ourselves why they choose not to participate and take responsibility for making ourselves as approachable and useful as possible.

The average fitness professional earns roughly $19/hour, an the barrier to entry into fitness as a career is a test that can take less than an hour to complete plus a CPR certification. These combine for a low barrier, low incentive industry to be world class in. It's our belief that the low barrier and low incentive is leading to a less than desirable consistency with which people can expect meaningful results. It's a three pillar problem that Dr. Sean has a solution for. If he's right, everyone wins.

Yesterday I made a post promising I would review the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommendation that children take medications and undergo bariatric surgery to fight Obesity. The Wall Street Journal and CNN (and many other outlets) wrote articles discussing the medication and surgical recommendations. In this podcast I break down in very simple terms how truthful they were, and what I believe needs to be done to curb this catastrophic problem facing American society.
