The Apple Seed

From time to time, we'll post what we call a BITE ("like a normal episode, only shorter!"). We always hope that the stories you listen to on The Apple Seed will spark memories and thoughts that you can share with the ones you love -- perhaps even the people with whom you listen to the show. In a BITE, we'll listen to a single story -- one that we love -- and invite friends to share memories and thoughts that occur to them as they listen to it.

Join us for an intimate visit from Andy Offutt Irwin, the great storyteller behind the "Aunt Marguerite" stories. He treated us to several tales live in the studio in front of a warm audience. Andy was joined by Ryan Shupe, the terrific songwriter behind the hit "Dream Big," who played for us his songs "Corn Dogs," and the lovely "All I Need is You." You'll also hear selections from Alice Through the Looking Glass by our readers theater actors, who also performed a funny scene from the Jerome K. Jerome classic, "Three Men in a Boat."

Join Sam and the Apple Seed team as we discuss the diets of jungle critters, reminisce about Rudyard Kipling’s “Just So” stories, and even tell a few fishing tales of our own.
