On this weeks episode we sit down with Aerospace engineer, Madison Dye....Madison is also the editor / producer of our podcast. We met Madison the way we meet a lot of people - through a cold email. Maddy sent us an email a few months back and suggested we start a podcast and 6 months later, here we are recording our 13th episode of the Colin and Samir Podcast. For those of you who don't know, Colin and I actually met through a cold email - I saw some videos he was making and sent him an email. Cold email is often times how ideas get turned into action.
So why did we respond to Maddy's email? What caught our attention? And how can you be more successful in your cold outreach? We cover all of this and more on this episode of The Colin and Samir Podcast.

On this episode we do something a bit different, we are bringing you a long with us as we conquer one of our biggest fears: Skydiving. Colin is afraid of heights and Samir is a very anxious flyer - so we figured we should combine the two and jump out of a plane.
We started recording before we jumped and picked back up after the jump and by the end we are joined by our friend Josh Rottman. Josh is the one who actually took us skydiving, he's an incredibly talented cinematographer and is now filming while he jumps out of planes. You can check out his work on his instagram - @Emptyduckdigital
This was a really fun episode for us to record, we hope you enjoy it and share it with your friends.

On this episode, we talk to Alex Portera of The Nowhere Men. The Nowhere Men is a traveling group of filmmakers who have a really simple philosophy - they believe that everyone has a story to tell. They’ve traveled across 35 different countries over the past 4 years - mostly by car and they filmed all of it. They learned a lot about themselves and about travel and film the most importantly they learned about the kindness of strangers.
Alex tells us some amazing stories in this episode, we talk to him about learning how to film and edit and about what you learn from traveling the world in a car.

This week we decided to experiment with the format of this podcast. We decided to wear wireless lav mics and walk around Venice beach answering the questions that you put in the reviews of our show. The idea came from a conversation we had about "Daily Vlogging" in podcast form and what that would be like, we thought it would be interesting to hear what it sounded like to go through daily life with a mic on.
Let us know what you think about this episode and of this format, you can tweet at us @colinandsamir and you can also rate & review our podcast. Feel free to leave a question in our reviews and we will answer it on a future episode.
We reference a YouTube video in this episode about a book that became the number 1 best seller on Amazon - here's the link to that video: https://youtu.be/_DRsu5Cv3O0
