October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the United States and in this episode, we delve into the cycle of domestic violence and explore ways to address and prevent it.  We also share critical resources to support those impacted by domestic violence, whether for yourself or someone you know.

This episode discusses the global prevalence of domestic violence, drawing on statistics from the World Health Organization and the CDC to highlight the pervasive nature of this issue across all communities.  We approach this sensitive topic with care, recognizing it may be triggering for some listeners.  Please feel free to skip parts or this episode as needed.

Joining us is Queen S, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting trauma survivors through an anti-racist and anti-oppression lens.  Queen S brings expertise in training, curriculum design and career development coaching, with a focus on helping individuals navigate trauma, homelessness and poverty within the social support systems of New York City.

This is an ongoing conversation about a pressing social issue, and as social workers, we have a responsibility to inform and empower our communities.
