A couple of years ago, I was teaching a public speaking workshop in Detroit and three of the people in that class happened to be job placement coaches.
Throughout the course, I noticed a couple of really interesting things as the class went on.
First the three of these folks that all did the same thing kept mentioning over and over again how the lessons I was covering in the public speaking class were similar to the lessons that they were teaching, one-on-one, to the people in their job development sessions.
And then the second thing I noticed was the three of them, these three folks that were in the class, had picked up everything I was teaching way quicker than usual people.
I realized later that those three in particular picked up everything so quickly because they all already had great communications skills one-on-one in the workplace.
There are very, very few skills you can learn for the workplace that are more important than communication and presentation skills. Today I'm gonna cover just five ways those skills can help you in the workplace in ways you may not have thought of. (And also one way that they can help you land the job in the first place)
