This is a special episode only available to our podcast subscribers, which we call The Mini Chief. These are short, sharp highlights from our fabulous CEO guests, where you get a 5 to 10 minute snapshot from their full episode.
Our latest guest is Celebrity Apprentice Mentor, Nick Bell, the Founder of Superist.

Superist is a digital agency group with 18 agencies and over 2,000 employees worldwide.
The agency hand-selects businesses in the $1-5 million annual recurring revenue range, advises and mentors the founders while a team of scaling specialists look to improve existing systems and processes. The group has remarkably acquired one digital services agency per month since its inception.
Nick left university after six weeks, and after persevering through two failed business ventures, he used the last $350 to his name to launch an SEO digital marketing agency from his bedroom, a business he'd go on to sell for $39 million nine years later.
Nick was also one of two Australian Celebrity Apprentice advisors to Lord Alan Sugar and is also a former AFR young rich-lister.
In this episode we talk about:
โ The post-COVID productivity challenge and the threat and benefits of AI
โ Looking after the A-players in his teams
โ What he looks for in the Founder when purchasing a business, and
โ How his health and wellness regime is going to help him live to 150!

"According to InsideHR, only half of recruitment decisions end up being good for either the employer or the employee, and that is just staggering."
In today's minisode, I go back through the archives. Over the course of the last 6 years of this podcast, I have asked dozens of CEOs what their number one question is that they ask candidates in interviews and how they get to hire high performers.

"I'm in a position that, if I don't show resilience, I can't expect everyone else to show resilience."
This is a special episode only available to our podcast subscribers, which we call The Mini Chief. These are short, sharp highlights from our fabulous CEO guests, where you get a 5 to 10 minute snapshot from their full episode.

I interviewed Baden for this podcast back in August 2018.
Baden's path to become CEO of professional rugby club, The Melbourne Rebels, has been different to most. He transitioned from the Coaching and Operations departments and finally got his first CEO role with them in 2017.
He was heavily involved as the GM of Rugby, when, in 2017, the Melbourne Rebels luckily managed to save their Super Rugby licence, under controversial circumstances.
Ultimately, when that process concluded, he was selected to lead the club into the future and is still at the helm.
Baden's prior experience was as the Director of Operations and EGM at Sydney University Football Club, after a number of years involved as a coach both in Australia and in Japan.
In this episode we talk about:
โ Having empathy for your people and showing they are valued
โ Dealing with huge uncertainty and keeping staff motivated
โ The contagion of your emotions within an organisation, and
โ Leading high performers in a professional environment
