Many physicians experience unhappiness and burnout in their daily jobs. But this can be changed. There is information available that can help you or someone you know to transition into other career opportunities. Pharma and biotech are two possible options, and Dr. Nerissa Kreher, today’s guest, will explain more about these paths.
Dr. Nerissa Kreher is a Pediatric Endocrinologist who realized she had other passions to pursue outside of traditional clinical medicine. As a result, she got an MBA from Northeastern University and, while working in research, decided to pivot into the pharma/biotech industry.
Having more than 15 years of experience working for different companies, Dr. Nerissa Kreher also coaches other physicians looking to transition from clinical work to being in pharma.

The chance of pivoting from an unfulfilled career to a dream position is very real.

A human with a good health span could live 150 years. But this is not what’s happening right now. And why is that? The reason is metabolic inflammation. This phenomenon prevents you from aging healthily.
Today’s episode is the second part of my conversation with Dr. Gurpreet Singh Padda. In the first part, we dealt with finances for physicians and eye-opening concepts such as crisis investing. In the second part, the discussion centers around health.
The interaction between biology, genetics, social skills, cortisol production, and oxytocin levels indicates our general health. Dr. Gurpreet Singh Padda focuses on this field of medicine, especially on a larger scale, to help underprivileged communities.
These are some of the topics we cover during the episode:
- Aging and longevity in current times
- Metabolic inflammation and its role in aging
- Advice for taking your health to the next level
At the end of the day, how you behave cognitively and feel physically comes down to metabolic inflammation. Many feeder units go into it, so you must take a functional medicine approach to understand what’s happening with your body. Once you identify the aspects triggering your metabolic inflammation, you can make the necessary changes and improve your health. Until next time. Be phenomenal.

Physicians need to leave their shells and take control of their financial freedom. This is just the cold hard reality. In truth, when physicians are young, they are sharp. They get into medical school, which requires an enormous amount of effort and diligence.
However, when physicians start working and making a lot of money, they don’t make intelligent decisions to secure their future. And today’s guest explains the importance of achieving financial freedom when you are at the top of your game.
Dr. Gurpreet Singh Padda is a remarkable renaissance man in medicine. He’s a physician, Board Certified in Anesthesiology, Addiction, and Interventional Pain. After understanding the complexities of metabolic health, he created a strategy for dealing with addiction, pain, and obesity. Moreover, he founded Red Pill Kapital, a company that helps physicians deal with their money in the right way.

The younger you are, the better to start thinking about insurance. It will be cheaper for you to get it, and you will be covered from the origin of your medical career. But also remember that later is always better than never. If you are an experienced MD, you can also contact a company that advocates for physicians, and they will help you get the most appropriate plan. These are just some of the golden nuggets I get from today’s guest, Dr. Stephanie Pearson.
Dr. Stephanie Pearson is an OB-GYN who decided to reinvent herself after an injury. As a result of her transformation, she created PearsonRavitz. This firm is one of the top disability insurance companies catering to and advocating for physicians.
These are some of the topics we cover during the episode:
- What to look for when analyzing an insurance policy
- Characteristics of the insurance industry
- Clauses that could be harmful to physicians
- When should MDs contact a physician advocacy firm?
- The reason why insurance is not connected with age but with wealth
After listening to this episode, please go check your disability policy. Make sure you understand it in detail. And in case you need a second opinion, don’t hesitate to contact PearsonRavitz. It’s always good to get a second opinion. Be phenomenal.
“I think the insurance industry is one of the most archaic industries out there. There is no standardization of language. They are looking for reasons not to pay people, right? But they do.” - Dr. Stephanie Pearson
