In the closing weeks of the season, the Texas Longhorns' baseball and softball teams are positioning themselves well for the postseason.
Baseball swept yet another top-10 team, building on a narrow Thursday win and ending the weekend with a run-rule victory over the Auburn Tigers. At this point, they are positioning themselves to be the top seed in the SEC Tournament and beyond.
The softball team may have dropped one game, but the bats were live, while the pitching managed to do enough to suppress the bats of the LSU Tigers. Texas needs to finish the regular season strong to keep their rivals from taking the regular season title.
The No. 1 Texas Longhorns continue their winning ways in the SEC with a tight weekend series win over the Kentucky Wildcats.
Thanks to their win and some fortuitous losses in the rest of the country, the Longhorns took the top spot in the country for the first time in three seasons. What did Texas do to put themselves in this position and how do they continue it through the rest of SEC play?
The Texas Longhorns held their 2025 Pro Day over the weekend, giving NFL Scouts an opportunity to check out the talent they hope to send to the NFL.
With the NFL Draft rapidly approaching, we reached out to Ryan McCrystal of Sharp Football Analysis to help us dive in on where your favorite draft-eligible Longhorns might end up.
The No. 4 Texas Longhorns had two very different games in the Sweet 16 and the Elite 8, but they managed to come away with wins in both to advance to the final weekend of the tournament.
The high-powered Tennessee Volunteers hung with Texas late and Texas had to weather a late wave, while they put the clamps on TCU and rode tough defense to the Final Four.
The No. 1 Texas Longhorns did what they needed to do in the Women's NCAA Tournament, cruising past their first two opponents and making it easily to the second weekend of the tournament. They now have to take on a team that pushed them in the regular season, No. 20 Tennessee, coming off an upset win over Ohio State.
After the men made the earliest-possible exit from the tournament, they made the decision to part ways with Rodney Terry and hire the man who booted him from the field -- former Xavier coach Sean Miller.
Both the women and the men will be representing the Texas Longhorns in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, albeit on two very different paths.
The ladies make the tournament as one of the top seeds, hosting the first two rounds in Austin, with a clear shot at the Final Four and beyond. The men will have a longer path, sitting as one of the First Four games of the tournament, needing a win to make the field of 64.
The Texas Longhorns entered the tournament as the No. 1 team in the country but the No. 2 team in the tournament, facing a tough road to face off against South Carolina for the third time this season. That road took its toll on the Longhorns and they came up short in the championship game.
Elsewhere, the softball team brought its big bats with them to Ohio and dominated opponents from the plate and from the circle. The baseball team also got things going, with the pitching seeming to find its rhythm in a sweep of the weekend.
The No. 1 team in the nation locked in the top spot in the SEC in their first year in the conference, a huge step in achieving their goals for the year. They may have lost the top seed in the SEC Tournament via coin flip, but they brought home a pair of conference awards and will enjoy two byes en route to bringing home the hardware.
While it seemed like the men's team was on the wrong side of the bubble, they managed to pull off a Tuesday night upset and potentially put themselves back on the right side of the tournament watchlist.
The No. 2 Texas Longhorns women's basketball team took care of business against a pair of ranked teams, extending its win streak to 10 games in the process. With the win, the Longhorns have officially put themselves in a position to win the SEC regular season title and get a No. 1 seed in both the conference and the NCAA Tournament.
The men started the week out with an embarrassing loss to No. 1 Alabama but rebounded with a big win over the Kentucky Wildcats to get another ranked win and continue to build their resume for a shot at the post-season. What was the difference in the two games and how can Texas continue to build on that momentum?
The No. 4 Texas Longhorns hosted the No. 2 South Carolina Gamecocks and got their revenge for the road loss from a few weeks ago. The Longhorns' defense took care of business and kept the potent South Carolina offense in check, while the offense was able to weather the third quarter explosion from the Gamecocks to come away with the win.
The men didn't have as much success, dropping both games a week ago -- something that put their postseason hopes in jeopardy as they head into a pair of games against top 25 teams.
