The Texas Longhorns head into Ames, Iowa, hoping to snap both their three-game losing streak this season, as well as trying to avoid a three-game losing streak against the Iowa State Cyclones.

The Longhorns have lost with the same script in the last three outings, building an early lead and then letting it slowly drift away. The Cyclones are a team that would love to use the same methodology that the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Baylor Bears used to beat Texas - weather the early storm and grind out a win on the ground. They have one of the best backs in the country in Breece Hall, who is coming off a 167-yard performance in their lost to the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Quarterback Brock Purdy struggled early in the season but has come on over the last four weeks, passing for 945 yards and eight touchdowns in a 3-1 stretch for the Cyclones in October.

After dropping yet another lead, this time at the hands of the Baylor Bears, it's starting to feel like a recurring nightmare for the Texas Longhorns. Texas led 24-10 before the points dried up and the defense struggled to keep up with the line they were asked to hold, leading to another collapse from the Longhorns as a team.

Offensive miscues on the line and at receiver led to a tough day for quarterback Casey Thompson - who still managed more than 200 yards and a two touchdowns in the loss. Part of the struggle was Baylor and Dave Aranda's plan to limit Bijan Robinson worked, holding him to a season-low in yardage and a career-low in yards per carry. The Longhorns also struggled from multiple drops and unforced errors - giving the Bears defense life repeatedly. Defensively, the Longhorns played their typical bend, don't break style that held in the first half but fell apart late as the defense started to run out of gas.

Texas Longhorn football had a bye this past weekend, so in lieu of a look back and recap -- we are offering a look ahead to the Longhorns of Tomorrow. Mike Roach from 247 Sports joins the podcast to discuss the momentum after back-to-back close losses to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State and how it is more neutral than reverse.

We focused especially on the offensive line: how the approach of Kyle Flood and Coach Sark is different than the previous regimes, who is on the board to join the current class, and how fans should feel about the future of the position.

We also looked at playmakers at the skill positions (and particularly Wide Receiver) as Xavier Worthy has stepped on campus and immediately become our WR1 and biggest playmaker out wide.
