  • Ep 30: Sticking to Our Values at Work: Navigating the Dark Side of Our Industries & When to Speak Up

    TW: Sexism, coercion, assault.

Sometimes it can feel challenging to be proud of our faith in our day-to-day work lives, and at times it can even feel isolating when we feel like we’re in the minority. It’s refreshing to remember that we don’t need validation from people who disagree with our worldview, and we can honour our values by turning up to work and taking pride and care in what we do. When we think about our career journeys, some of us can look back with cynicism and reflect on times when we felt like we were taken advantage of. This can put a strain on the way we see our industries, but there is still a glimmer of hope with the wisdom we gain and share.

How do we leave a lasting positive impact in our industries when they don’t always align with our core values? Watch as our host Rachel Calland is joined by guests Caroline Ford and Nicole M Gomes in the Magnify Studio for Ep 30 Sticking to Our Values at Work: Navigating the Dark Side of Our Industries & When to Speak Up.

  • Ep 29: Balancing Ambition with Being Enough as We Are: Redefining Success & Self-Pursuit

Many of us believe success is directly related to monetary numbers and status. While businesses that thrive need these things, we need to be sure that we don’t get caught up in the trap of instant gratification. There’s no perfect rule book that details how we can avoid hardships and disappointments professionally or personally, but we can always work towards being thankful for each day, embracing all the highs and lows, knowing that every season can teach us a lesson that helps us have a more well-rounded view.

How do we transform our view of success and identity so we have a more robust outlook on life? Watch as our host Rachel Calland is joined by guests Anneka Wallington and Deborah Ajaja in the Magnify Studio for Ep 29 Balancing Ambition with Being Enough as We Are: Redefining Success & Self-Pursuit.

  • Ep 28: The REAL Cost of Building a Vision: Embracing Obedience, Personal Sacrifice & Humility

In an increasingly digital and connected world, many of us are looking to build profitable communities and restore connection with others but this journey isn’t always a smooth and easy one. Leading a vision means being intentional with the team you hire and making sure attitudes and work ethics align internally and externally. There’s always curveballs on the road of entrepreneurship from firm conversations, tough financial decisions and a laser focus on the vision over personal comforts.

How do we continue to prioritise diligence and devotion when we’re working hard but don’t see the final results yet? Watch as our host Rachel Calland is joined by guests Tobi Oredein and Courtney Daniella Boateng in the Magnify Studio for Ep 28 The REAL Cost of Building a Vision: Embracing Obedience, Personal Sacrifice & Humility.

  • Ep 27: Do We Have to Be Thankful for Trauma? Turning Pain into Purpose & Overcoming Victimhood

Past traumas, whether they happened recently or decades ago, have a massive impact on how we navigate the world and interact with people around us. The healing process can feel uncomfortable and bring up past wounds, but there can be purpose found in uncovering the root of our pain and any additional dysfunctional patterns. While that doesn’t mean the things we’ve experienced are fair, it does mean that we can share our mental, emotional and spiritual recovery journeys with others who share similar stories. Being intentional with bettering ourselves psychologically means we have more capacity to show up for ourselves, and our loved ones. That means we all have the capacity to make the world a better, safer and kinder place.

How can we balance acknowledging past hardships, while healing and using that as fuel to help others? Watch as our host Abi McIlrath is joined by guests Marcia Cassidy and Dominy Roe in the Magnify Studio for Do We Have to Be Thankful for Trauma? Turning Pain into Purpose & Overcoming Victimhood.

  • Ep 26: The Stigma of Young Motherhood: Handling Biases & Rediscovering Lost Dreams

Many of us have a clear timeline regarding our careers, relationships and family. Although many of us know that life doesn’t always go according to our plans, it can still be hard when faced with life changing milestones that feel like they came about at an inconvenient time. Young motherhood can bring around a mixture of feelings like regret, excitement, confusion and joy, but it should never undermine the complex beauty of new life and growing our families. Navigating this can feel mentally, physically and spiritually complicated at times, but it can become more peaceful with the right support network around us. We are capable of pursuing our dreams regardless of when we have children and want this to be an encouragement to pregnant women, current mothers, and mothers who are heading back into employment.

How can we help destigmatise young pregnancy while learning to support those of us who are going through it and learn to embrace excitement on the journey of motherhood? Watch as our host Rachel Calland is joined by guests Yasmin Elizabeth-Mfon and Nicky Bamgbade in the Magnify Studio for Ep 26 The Stigma of Young Motherhood: Handling Biases & Rediscovering Lost Dreams.

  • Ep 24: Opening Up About Depression and Anxiety: Journeying Through a Mental Health Crisis and Seeking Help

    TW: Suicide and depression.

It’s inevitable that we will struggle with our mental health at different points in our lives. It’s important to know that this doesn’t define us or make us less valuable. As ambitious women we can often find our worth in our productivity, and ability to always be there for others, but there is so much strength in vulnerability. Reflecting on our emotional, spiritual and mental wellbeing allows us to look after ourselves and others better, and it can also be the signal that lets others know that we need platonic or professional support.

What are the signs that we should reach out to a medical professional for help navigating a mental health crisis and how can we support a loved one who’s suffering from depression or anxiety? Watch as our guest host Abi McIlrath is joined by guests Rachel Calland and Imelda Ladebo in the Magnify Studio for Opening Up About Depression and Anxiety.

  • Ep 23: ‘Having Wealth & Being Rich Are Two Different Things’: Building a Legacy Through Property

Talking about finances can be considered taboo but as ambitious women, we know money is a very important tool that helps us provide basic needs and more. We shouldn’t exclusively reserve financial literacy to the CEOs and entrepreneurs of the world. As women, whether we’re single, married or anything in between, it’s healthy to have an understanding of wealth, alongside a growth mindset so we can benefit ourselves, our families, friends and those in need. We also know that with an increase in finances comes responsibility and tested humility.

How can we use wisdom and practical knowledge to invest and once we’ve succeeded, how can we keep an inclusive mindset that leaves room for everyone at the table? Watch as our host Rachel Calland is joined by guests Toyin Ayandare and Sarah Stephen in the Magnify Studio for Building Wealth And A Legacy Through Property.

  • Ep 22: Trusting God In Your Most Challenging Seasons: The Reality of Building Endurance in Your Faith

We’re all going to experience challenging seasons no matter how much we try to plan and control life’s outcomes, but the mental, physical and spiritual burnout from these trying times can be extremely hard to navigate. We can start to question our purpose and it can shape our relationship with faith in a positive or negative way. Being excited by reaching milestones isn’t a bad thing, but we want to ensure that we don’t attach our entire value to achievements relating to our job, relationship status or parental status.

How can we find peace knowing that we can’t control the outcome of everything, and how can we be intentional about cultivating a mindset that embraces change? Watch as our host Rachel Calland is joined by guests Jessica Reece Okotan and Sheyi Martins-Allen in the Magnify Studio for The Reality of Navigating Life’s Challenging Seasons.

  • Ep 21: Being Single in Your 30s: Navigating Societies Timeline, Keeping Your Standards & Contentment

Dating as women can feel like a rollercoaster no matter what age we are but after our 20s, there are more factors to think about. Wanting to be married or have a family is a beautiful thing, but it can be hard to hold onto these dreams when we feel like our timelines are delayed, and our biological clocks are ticking. Our personal timelines don't always come to pass, but we want to be people who have joy and a sense of self-assurance when life’s curveballs come our way.

How can we honour our desire for a romantic partner when we feel like our time is running out, and what’s the key to enjoying the present as a single person? Watch as our host Rachel Calland is joined by guests Joy Aboderin and Delphine Chui in the Magnify Studio for Being Single in Your 30s.
