Over the past year, Michigan police say the violent deaths of five white men along a popular river trail appear to be connected. Lansing’s police chief acknowledged that the city may have a serial killer on its hands and have asked for help from the community, setting up a tip line. Four of the victims were brutally beaten in the head, suffering facial injuries, all eventually dying from their injuries in the hospital. One of the men was stabbed to death, and police have made an arrest in that case, but aren’t sure if the person they have in custody is actually the person responsible for this series of brutal murders.

A Texas man was executed after a nearly two hour delay on Wednesday using the exact same, single dose method of pentobarbital that Tennessee administered to Christa Pike. The outcome was very different for 46-year-old Jamaal Howard, who was pronounced dead within 15 minutes. Howard apologized to his victim’s family in his final words, after being convicted in the shooting death of convenience store worker Vickie Swartout back in 2000.

Owens reposted a video, with pictures of three boys’ faces, accusing them of murdering Wells and adding the caption “ARREST THEM IMMEDIATELY!!” Owens post came after a grand jury did not recommend any criminal charges in Wells’ death. Lawyers for the friends say they also intend to file several more defamation claims, among them, the Rev. Al Sharpton and “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin for comments they made discussing Wells' death.

New Jersey police made a horrific discovery inside a multimillion dollar mansion: three members of the same family, all fatally shot. But police now believe it was the father, 61-year-old insurance executive David Grodnick who shot and killed his 62-year-old wife, Lora and their 24-year-old daughter, Sloane before turning the gun on himself. We discuss the details of this case, one that follows a disturbing trend this year, where seemingly successful, educated men murder their entire families before killing themselves, with little to no explanation.

They say Pike is the only known person to have survived two lethal doses of pentobarbital, but her long term prognosis remains unclear. Later today, Pike’s attorneys will be back in court, asking for evidence to be preserved in the case, as well as transparency into what went wrong. Meantime, Pike’s victim’s mom has reacted to the news that her daughter’s killer is awake, saying she “had a feeling” she would survive.
