  • 143: The sneaky self-improvement cycle you might be getting stuck in and how to interrupt it

Hi Soothers! On today's podcast, I talk about a cycle I spent many years stuck in and I see you all stuck in too: the seductive self help cycle of the perfectionist fantasy goal, how it dysregulates your nervous system, crashes you into a shame spiral, and then sneakily seduces you into it all over again, keeping you stuck in a cycle of planning huge impossible goals to make yourself feel better than actually end up making you feel worse.

I teach how to interrupt this cycle and create attainable, sustainable goals that are important to you and help you back on a path of self-worth and gentle personal development and change.

  • 142: What are universal energies and how can you begin working with them in your life?

Hi Soothers! Today I'm diving into a more spiritual episode as I explain lessons I've learned from my own spiritual journey and awakening that have led me to understand certain ways and patterns in which the universe tends to work with you as you grow along your path.

Join as I explain in practical, grounded terms concepts like surrendering to the universe, why the universe may "test" you as you grow, why trying to control situations or outcomes may be blocking the very thing you desire; and lots more. As always, I'll share lots of concrete examples and tips so you can start understanding these concepts more clearly and begin applying them in your life, too.

  • 141: How I healed my inner critic and how you can heal yours, too

Hi Soothers! Today I address what I know is one of the most painful and pressing issues for my community: our inner critics. I delve into the story of my inner critic, how I didn't even realize I had one until my late 30s, what I tried and didn't work to heal it, and then the combination of inner child work, self-compassion, parts work and ritual that truly helped me heal her. Because your inner critic? She is the part of you that is your scared inner child, and it's time for us to go comfort her.

And I'll show you how. To help you heal your inner critic in the same way I healed mine, I'm hosting a workshop, How to Heal Your Inner Critic, Feb 27th (replay provided). This workshop will guide you into gentle relationship with your inner critic in a way you likely haven't ever experienced before. Part teaching, part live self-discovery and journaling exercises, part ceremony and ritual, this workshop will guide you into an entirely different way of experiencing and relating to your inner critic, that will allow you to step into self-gentleness and self-trust.

    • How to Heal Your Inner Critic, 2-hr Workshop, Sunday, Feb. 27th, $77 earlybird, goes up to $99 this Monday  (replay provided)
    • New Moon Journal Circle for March!!! March 2 7-830pmET, $11  (replay provided)

  • 140: Egg wisdom vs. sperm wisdom

Why are so many of us sensitive women burned out? Addicted to productivity and doing? Feeling like we have to do ALL THE THINGS?!

In my opinion, it's because we've been over conditioned to use "sperm wisdom," aka our masculine energy and tactics, and it's far past time we shift into "egg wisdom" and our feminine energy as a way of being and doing.

I used to roll my eyes at terms like masculine and feminine energy and maybe you are, too, but I urge you to listen to this concept as I describe it because when I started applying it, it made huge differences in my life, and I want that for you, too!

  • 139: All about self-sabotage: What it is, why I think it happens, and how to begin reducing it in your life

Hi Soothers! Today I'm talking about the tricky topic of self-sabotage. What is it? Why do we fall prey to it? How do we stop doing it so much? I offer my unique take on how and why self-sabotage happens so often in the face of our goals and desires (spoiler alert, it's not because you're lazy or don't want it bad enough) and offer gentle tips for how to begin strengthening your self-trust muscle and moving towards the things you desire and deserve in life.

  • 138: A personal life + biz update from Catherine: COVID, tragedy, the unexpectedness of life, and more

Hi Soothers! I'm back from my podcast break and I'm returning with a life update. It's been a lot: in the past six weeks my partner AJ lost his father; we both got COVID; we figured out plans to move into together; we stayed in Indiana for six weeks unexpectedly through the holidays; and I kept up with my business. So I'm sharing all of that today to just catch you up on how I've been. Remember, the messiness and pain of life is life, it's not just the part of life you try to get to to get on with "real life" or the important parts. We're here for all of it. Thanks to all of you for your beautiful support and love. Looking forward to returning to regular episodes!
