We like to automatically blame our circumstances for our negative feelings. We imagine that we wouldn't have to feel angry, frustrated or overwhelmed if only our jobs were different, or the culture of medicine changed. We discount that our thoughts about the circumstances create the emotions, and when we do that, we give away our power to feel differently.

That because they feel emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, and can't relax, it's a sign that they are flawed in some significant way. We'll break down that line of thinking right now, and look at how we can start to make changes to feel better.
