To routine or not to routine? That is the question. While we know trying to maintain any semblance of structure through this absolutely wild time makes sense in theory, we're struggling to get out of bed in the morning. Shakespeare may have written King Lear in isolation, but all we're managing to do is obsessively scroll Instagram, practice Tiktok routines, and play games on our phone.

This episode, Olivia and Ione will chat about why there's no point in being harsh on yourself if your quarantine routine is non-existent. We'll also be chatting about the role of astrology and horoscopes while we're all stuck indoors; are we still checking our astrology apps? Do they mean anything anymore? Can you trust the cosmos when we're all struggling to remember which day of the week it is, let alone how the planets are aligning?

We're also thrilled to have Dream Wife front-woman Rakel Mjöll joining us all the way from Iceland to recommend films to watch while ignoring the rest of the world.

Hi everyone! So we're back sooner than expected, with a brand new spin-off podcast format to listen to. While we're all in lockdown, we wanted to throw it back to a joyful memory of being in our bedrooms... Sleepovers!

Unlike The Polyester Podcast, The Polyester Sleepover club is like those long hours spent chatting nonsense, tucked up in bed with your best mates. Less interview focused, co-hosts Ione Gamble and Olivia Graham will be talking you through self isolation, with absolute minimal scary COVID-19 related chat. Instead, we want to provide an escape to the day-to-day anxiety we're all experiencing right now. We'll be doing this by celebrating something we both hold dear to our hearts; being unproductive!

With so much talk of making isolation 'worth it', starting that dream project, and hustling your way out of a global crisis; we want to celebrate those who are doing the exact opposite. The lazy among us, the gross girls, the ones who have forgotten to shower for three days straight and have spent their days playing The Sims back to back. 

We'll also be asking our contributors to let us know how they're getting through the period, and asking one person per episode to provide a list of three things we can consume in the week. First up, we have photographer Laurence Philomene recommending snacks! 

To round it all off, we'll be discussing a different topic from our newly launched newsletter, mixed in with some astrology chat for good measure. First up, we're talking motherhood. From mothering others, to maternal instincts, what modern motherhood means and more.

We're back! For a special live recording with artist and LGBTQA+ advocate / activist Wednesday Homes, more commonly known on the internet as @hellomynameiswednesday.

Recorded live at Boxpark Croydon, (pre social distancing and self isolation), Wednesday told us all about their work, their inspirations, practical ways to show up for trans and TGNC people, fostering empathy, and where to start when it comes to queer art history.

It's the season finale! And to wrap up season two Olivia is putting Ione in the hot seat as this weeks ask an expert to find out all about the four new Polyester zine's released to mark our fifth birthday. 

Discussing everything from five years of self publishing, to our decision to release four limited edition zines, to exploring beauty standards, masculinity, and reproductive justice, and why she's pulled back from a traditional publishing schedule. Ione will talking through each of the releases and reflecting on the last half a decade as an independent publication.

For our last obsessions section, we're talking to photographer Camille Mariet on her fascination with building other worlds and escaping into a fantasy of her own making. Chatting about how she uses the Uncanny Valley theory to represent the feminine experience, and how building our own worlds can be catharsis from our own sometimes grim realities. Camille talks us through her artistic process helps the L.A. based artist escape existential dread.

Hubble Bubble Toil and Trouble! Hexes at the ready because to celebrate the season of the witch we're deep diving on witchcraft's place in modern femininity. 

First up for ask an expert, we're talking to Anna Bogutskaya - one half of London based The Final Girls, a film collective exploring the intersections of horror and feminism. Anna tells us all about her enduring love for the witch as a rare figure of feminine power and why our modern obsession with witchcraft and the occult runs so deep. We'll also be chatting to Anna about the witch in pop culture; how she's progressed, how she represents female sexuality, and how the witch in film and TV has shaped girl culture.

In obsessions, we're thrilled to have one of our favourite designers, Clio Peppiatt, on this episode to talk us through the enduring influence of witchcraft on her eponymous label. Telling us how she grew up reading tarot and why the witch is such an important cultural figure to her label; we'll find out how Clio's built her own coven of creative collaborators and how she ensures she represents witchcraft respectfully in her work.

It's the Sex and Self Worth Episode; and for this instalment of The Polyester Podcast we're taking a deep dive into the world of dating, relationships, sex, and loving yourself.

For ask an expert, we're talking to trans-activist Charlie Craggs; who will be dishing out all her best boy advice. Jordyn chats with us about the loneliness of intimacy, the lack of hyper-romance in our modern world, why our bedrooms are sacred spaces, and much more.
