Markets are still holding on to levels, and will this morning take out resistance at the 50-DMA. If Apple and Amazon turn in positive quarterly report tonight, markets will have the lift to push upwards towards 5700, where they run into the 200- and 100-DMA's. Markets have enjoyed advances for 7-days in a row (yesterday we added to our short positions as a hedge for downside risk, as this is a lengthy stretch for markets). Expectations are for a rally today and possibly tomorrow, but eventually will see a pullback. When the pullback comes, the previous bottoms will act as support. Markets are getting over bought, so expect some corrective action eventually. With the market rally, investors start looking for sources of liquidity, and Gold is where a lot of money has been hiding during the tariff terror corrective period. Gold has triggered a MACD sell signal from a very elevated level. There is now downside risk to Gold, and we expect a dip to about $3,080, which would be a good re-entry point. (The 50-DMA has been a good level of support for Gold historically.) Meanwhile, Oil has become very appetizing for buyers, and we're thinking somewhere in the mid-50's will be a decent entry point for Oil. Markets continue a pattern of opening weakly, enticing buyers in the afternoon, and closing higher on the day. Markets on Tuesday completed a nice rally, breaking above a previous line of resistance. Markets will again today have a weak opening after six-straight days of advances, but we expect another round of late afternoon buying. Markets have had a 19% drop, peak to trough, followed by a 50% retracement. If you were nervous at the bottom of the decline, NOW would be a good time to shed risky investments, take profits, and rebalance your risk during these rally moments. Markets continue to build a rising trendline, with higher-lows providing a bullish sign. Retail buyers have been aggressively buying this decline, even as professional investors have been taking money off the table. Markets on Friday broke out of a consolidation wedge, while money flows into markets turned decently positive. Relative strength is approaching overbought status. The market is not going to rally straight up, back to all time highs, but the 100-DMA is providing a lid on how high prices can go for now. But this is the rally we were looking for for an opportunity to reduce risks and take some profits (don't go ALL to cash!!), and rebalance your portfolio. That's what we did on Friday. If the recent declines were to hard on you (down more than 20%), you were likely too aggressively allocated. This is the time to rebalance. Markets on Wednesday achieved a second day of rally, and are now trying to form a bullish move...if they can maintain 5350 today.  Markets are setting a series of higher lows, finding buyers in spite of negative headlines. This is the first positive sign of life since the initial tariff announcements. Expect markets to hit resistance at previous tops and bottoms. We have had six days where we've had 70% positive stocks (which doesn't happen all that often), which generally happens rear market bottoms. So there is positive momentum beneath the markets, as buyers are coming in. Don't expect the market to crash, but don't look for it to run off to the moon, either.
