Today we're sharing a bonus episode from our December meetup in Atlanta with several podcasters where I facilitated a discussion on the motivations behind hosting and producing true crime podcasts. The panel included Brandon Hall from Music City 911 Podcast, Nina Innsted from Already Gone, Dana Poll from True Crime P.I., Robert Parmer from The Broken System Podcast and Jason Ursy from Santa Maybe, a Criminal.
For those of you who could not make it to the meetup in Atlanta, I want to share this illuminating panel discussion with you and share it for those who made it and would like to re-listen.

Joining Jayson today is Elizabeth McMaster, an attorney and an advocate who focuses on areas of law that intersect with Elder law, guardianship and mental health. Elizabeth not only practices law in this area, but she has a true passion for helping people whose psychological, social and financial wellbeing are negatively impacted and the legal tools that exist that can be brought to bear to improve the welfare of others.
Today we're going to discuss the role that conservatorship and other similar tools play in society, that tension between individual rights, protecting individuals and what we can learn to make society a better place for those who are elderly and disabled.

This is a Silver Linings Handbook bonus episode with The Murder Sheet Podcast with the hosts, Kevin and Áine. We talk about the Delphi Murders and the media circus surrounding them. This episode originally aired on The Murder Sheet but includes additional content for Silver Linings Handbook listeners.
I can remember the moments walking along a rural street in Leesburg, Virginia when I wondered what happened to those little girls in Delphi, Indiana.
Who videotaped their kidnapper on an abandoned railroad bridge? I thought it must have been solved. I was wrong. I quickly found out that The Murder Sheet Podcast owned the case of the deaths of 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Liberty Germain. Kevin Greenlee and Áine Cain brought a journalist's perspective to the case unlike other podcasts I had come across. They were more ethical, honest and balanced. They were not sensationalists and advocates who were most of the people who filled the airwaves. They are also unbelievably empathetic people and have been a great support to me, especially since my mother's recent passing.
The sensationalism and absurdity among content creators has only gotten worse and some of the inappropriate behavior has spread to even the defense team for the man charged.
In this episode, we discuss the media circus surrounding this case and how it's not serving the defendant or the victims.

Jayson is joined by Brett Tally, an author of several bestselling novels and anthologies including He Who Walks in Shadow, That Which Should Not Be and The Fiddle Is the Devil's Instrument. He has been twice nominated for the Bram Stoker Award for superior achievement which is the top award for horror writing presented annually by the Horror Writers Association.
Brett is also the author of several true ghost stories and a nonfiction book called Haunted Tuscaloosa, which explores the paranormal in the Alabama town from the now shuttered local insane asylum in antebellum mansions said to be haunted by ghosts to cemeteries where confederate soldiers are still said to march and ghost stories from the University of Alabama Grounds.
Brett is an attorney and his interests include horror, science fiction, the paranormal and other whodunnit mysteries. He's the host of the Prosecutor's Podcast where he and his co-host Alice tackle well-known and less known true crime cases. But they also tackle some mysteries and some flat out hard to explain events.
Today we're going to continue our discussion about the paranormal, horror, science fiction and all that's mysterious and spooky both about fiction and in reality.
