Sales are difficult for most people, because asking for what they want (i.e., money in exchange for their product or service) directly goes against their value system. Most of us were taught that it’s wrong to ask for what you want.

One of the quickest ways to get over this is to practice SEEING yourself making sales successfully in your mind on a daily basis. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve—it’s that powerful. If you can visualize yourself confidently asking for the sales, helping the other person, and receiving the money—this will speed up the process of you heading towards sales mastery.

My mantra every day is, “How can I help this person?” I’ve actually trained my mind to look for where I can leave an “impression of increase” with every single person who comes into my life. Being successful at business and sales is about leaving the impression of increase everywhere you go. You cannot leave the impression of increase if you’re programmed with lack.

So start using your imagination to build a mental “movie” in your mind of you going through the sales process and having somebody say yes. Create the belief that you can do it, and you’ll start doing it.
