In this episode, we're going to dive deep - really deep - into how you can actually optimize your sleep from a practical perspective, as we host the man responsible for making sure the world's best athletes are sleeping properly - Nick Littlehales. We're going to learn how to set up your sleep environment, when it's best to sleep, which positions are healthier, how much is enough, how to troubleshoot sleep issues, and what factors make the biggest difference. Just to give you guys a fair bit of warning, it's a rather a long interview, and we do take a little while to warm up and get into the groove of things. We spend probably about 25 or more minutes just talking about how to identify your sleep needs and the type of mattress and pillows.... So yeah, when I say we go deep, I really mean it. Stay the course and listen through to the end, though, because we cover a ton of ground in the second half of the episode, and there are a number of surprising takeaways and bits of homework that could dramatically impact the quality of your life.
Part II of my 2 hour Q&A session with Dr. Anthony Metivier. The wine kept flowing, and in the second hour, we go deep into topics like depression, finding purpose, and more.
If you haven't listened to Part I, you should probably do that, first!
In mid-July, I had the great pleasure of hosting Dr. Anthony Metivier in beautiful Tel Aviv, Israel, as we worked on our new course on personal branding. While Anthony was here, we took the opportunity to record a live Q&A on the video broadcasting platform Meerkat, where we took hundreds of questions from people all over the world.
In it, we cover a ton of questions from our followers, ranging from memory and super learning techniques all the way to more serious topics such as depression, anxiety, and more. We even get in to health, biohacking, the meaning of life, and what it takes to be happy. I hope you guys will excuse the very raw and unpolished (read: drunken) format, because it has SO much value to offer. Also, you'll be pleased to know that I've given up alcohol since this interview was recorded (you'll realize why about an hour in).
This week, I'm excited to think that I might just introduce you to a health practice that you've never heard of. It's called "floating." Well, more scientifically speaking, it's called sensory deprivation. Maybe you've heard of it. Maybe you haven't. Maybe, like myself, you've experimented with it in the past and seen very interesting and encouraging results.
Either way, in this episode, we're going to talk to one of the experts on sensory deprivation, and learn not only the powerful benefits it can have for your mind and body, but more importantly, how you can actually do it… after all, most of us don't have massive sound-proof saltwater chambers just… like… lying around. At least, I don't. We're also going to talk about everything from Magnesium supplementation to anxiety and depression… we even talk about the possibility of aliens having landed on Earth. It's a fun episode, and I know you're going to enjoy it.
This week, we host John Lee Dumas of EntrepreneurOnFire, and learn how he has become financially superhuman, and inspired tens of thousands of people to do the same thing. We explore the topics of entrepreneurship, personal branding, and lifestyle design.
This week's guest is Mr. Ari Meisel - productivity guru, health nut, and all-around superhuman. It's an amazing episode! we cover everything from how he manages to work only 2 days a week, to what supplements he is using, how everyday people like you and I can outsource aspects of our lives to get better results and have less stress. You'll even hear about what productivity tools both Ari and I most recommend. I know you're going to love it.
In this episode, we get a chance to learn the ins and outs of intermittent fasting, and figure out why you should care. We talk supplements and the problems with the supplement industry. You even get some homework assignments and things to try out during this week!
In this episode, we get an in-depth look into the heart and mind of someone with a seemingly endless supply of tenacity, willpower, inspiration, and joy. My guests story is really the story of turning unimaginably dark times into silver-lined clouds, coming back time and time again from impossibly circumstances to make the best of it and achieve tremendous happiness and success. I feel truly fortunate that he opened up and didn't hold anything back from us, sharing now only the darkest of the dark, but also his own strategies for overcoming them. I, for one, am going to be reading his most recent book very soon.
Today, we've managed to book, without exaggeration, the world's foremost expert on memory and memory training: Harry Lorayne. He's a living legend. Since the late 1950's, he has sold over 17 MILLION copies of over 40 books on memory and magic. He's been on every major television show you can imagine at least once - and generally starts off by memorizing the names of everyone in the up to 1500 person audience. He's been in Forbes, coached a long list of Fortune 500 companies and their executives… Honestly, there's no way I can possible do justice by just listing off his many accomplishments.
More important than these accomplishments is the fact that today's guest is generally credited with bringing Memory training and mnemonics back into the public sphere. Long before the world memory championships, and long before both myself and my co-authors of Become a SuperLearner were even born, he was putting in the hours to rediscover and improve upon ancient memory techniques that have helped tens of millions of people change every aspect of their lives through improved mental faculties.
This interview might just be our biggest and most important yet. There's so much value here, I don't even know where to start. At 89 years old, Harry Lorayne pulls no punches and makes no apologies. He shares heartbreaking stories of physical abuse and overcoming dyslexia, but also some incredibly inspiring tales of how he became the world's most respected authority on memory… which, by the way, he did with nothing more than a middle school education.
You'll notice right away that Harry is clearly very practiced, having spent literally 60 years in the public spotlight. He's an incredible storyteller, and has an incredible way of answering questions with vivid stories and examples that will leave you wanting more.
I just know you're going to love this episode, so please take a moment to drop us a tweet or an email or a comment below with your thoughts.
