If you are feeling in a dark place
Alex and Amanda explore the concept of hopelessness and its seeming opposite - hope
Hope as a projection of who we thought we were and where we though we were headed vs hopelessness as the losing of the continuity and trajectory of that person we imagined we were becoming.
Hope time travels us right out of the present moment into a better next that never seems to show up as we (our mind) needed it to show up to satisfy the ever shifting desires.
But sometimes we find that the better next is devoid of the fullness of now and much like the theories of evolution - the "throwing" of desires into a future.
Hopelessness is a wall where imagination where your past can no longer paint a clear picture of the future using its only content - the perceived and interpreted past
And that gap we call hopelessness. But what that really is is is the truth of every single moment. We don’t know
And yet moment to moment we are known in this experiencing.
Hopelessness is the gateless gate into an unimaginable potential. Hopelessness is the space devoid of the stale persona that the mind has constructed.
So what needs to know is not what is “doing the doing”
What you are giving up is not on life or on your future or on yourself. You are giving up on all the LEARNED ideas. That is what life is, that is what has always been happening. Except for the thought that it wasn’t. So nothing changes when you are hopeless, except your suffering.
Hopelessness is the place of unimaginable potential and the suffering is just a mind who thinks it needs to know for the next moment to show up.
A simple misunderstanding of what is happening as part of the seamlessness of experience.
