Organizations used to have physical security and IT security – one focused on making sure the doors were locked, as it were, and the other making sure networks, databases and the like were secure. That sounds so quaint, right? Today security – especially cybersecurity – is a matter of business success across the enterprise. That's especially true across the supply chain, where there are more moving parts – literally and figuratively – to secure. In fact, cybersecurity does not really cover it all. We now need to be talking about digital security. Gartner Supply Chain analyst Mark Atwood and Gartner Security analyst Earl Perkins linked up to find out how organizations are doing with securing their supply chains and what they should be doing, which led to their research note “Take an Integrated Approach to Improve Digital Security for the Supply Chain.” We sat down with Mark and Earl for a conversation about their research to look at the digital security challenges everyone in the organization faces, if that at all differs for the supply chain, and what everyone needs to do to strengthen our digital security.
