It's all hands on deck this week, as the This Property Life team are joined for a special panel show, by experienced builder, Paul Murray, about refurbishment projects and how to find and work with good builders.
It's an insightful conversation that also includes advice on how to avoid being scammed, costing refurbs, and the checks and balances that we as professional investors should have in place.

Reputation is everything when it comes to selecting a builder. Speak to people you know who may have employed builders. When they're found, look at reviews and testimonials.
Building a good relationship with a builder can be the key to future projects. By building trust, we can expedite times by not having to search for tradesmen all over again.
Paying cash for a job is perfectly acceptable, but always ensure you have paperwork from your builder. As professional investors, a paper-trail is a must.
Stick rigidly to payment terms, Builders are under huge amounts of pressure when it comes to raw materials and payroll. Any agreement, from the off, must be honoured. Remember that builders have their own networks, too.
