In this episode, Eleanor Kolitz, Hebrew Language Academy’s champion educators, discusses how students in grades K through 8th are guided through self-discovery, self-reflection, and confidence building in one of Texas’ top charter schools. At the beginning of part two, I briefly review the first episode. Join my panel of expert educators of Eleanor Kolitz Hebrew Language Academy (EKHLA), Mrs. Kathryn Cohen (principal and cohort 3rd to 5th grade), Mrs. Tracy Smith (vice principal of K – 2nd grade), and Mrs. Simran Jawanda (vice principal of middle school) share how EKHLA students are guided in growing confidence in self-advocacy and self-reflection to participate in meaningful academic relationships. According to publicschoolreview.com, niche.com, and us news.com/education, national results consistently reveal that EKHLA students perform above expectations in middle school. EKHLA graduates are academically ready for their next level of education. At the elementary level, educators spend more time guiding young students to grow more confident in advocating for themselves and becoming open to self-reflection and self-improvement. I am amazed at the mindfulness practices which are apart of EHKLA core values and curriculum.
