Silence Is Not An Option! #BLM

March 25, 2020, 14 days ago, nearly 3 months into a deadly global pandemic, the murder of George Floyd, a black man, happened, was captured via cell phone and shown to the world.  He was murdered by Minneapolis Police.  His alleged crime, pass a $20 counterfeit bill.

This was the world’s collective breaking point.

As black women in corporate America, we are now having to deal with the subsequent aftermath of this murder that shook the world awake.  Now corporations are trying to get their messaging “right.”   And guess who has been asked to teach, coach and edit….We Have.  It’s been A LOT to say the least….

But in all this, SILENCE IS NOT AN OPTION!

In this episode, I share with you what I have learned during this time in our history and why you can no longer be Silent and protect everyone else’s fragile feelings.

Triggered w/ Tiffany Samuels – COVID-19 WFH Edition

In this episode, I catch up with my b-school bestie, Tiffany Samuels, while we bask in all the glory of working at home during a Global Pandemic.   This was supposed to be uplifting but… CoronaVirus!  I was clearly on 10 in this episode.

We catch up, laugh to keep from crying, and have a trill conversation about what we are doing to survive work and a virus that is currently taking black people out like melanin seeking missiles.

WARNING: YOU MAY BE TRIGGERED….. as we do discuss our PTSD from past workplaces:

Freedom by FIRE with Ericka Grant

In S3:Ep 36, I talked about preparing for the next recession.

This week, I chat with a sista who is financially free and only goes to work because she wants to, not because she has to work to provide for her needs.

If you are like me, you want to do better.  In order to do better, we have to learn better.

Ericka Grant is here to do just that, share knowledge about how we can start doing a better job with our finances so that we can all be free from the corporate plantation.  By day, Ericka Grant is a marketing and consumer research professional.  By night, Ericka indulges into her passion for family, real estate and financial freedom.  In just 10 short years, Ericka has built a net worth of over $1 Million Dollars.

            Ericka shares:
            • What the FIRE Movement is exactly and how to get started
            • That everyone, no matter how much money you make, can save
            • The importance of honing and listening to our own inner guidance

Navigating Your Career Amid Coronavirus w/ Alexandrea Davis

In this episode, I chat with one of my MBA besties about how we are thinking through our careers during #ThatRona.

We share some nuggets and things you should be thinking about:

              • How we are feeling and how to assess this Reset season in our lives.
              • Are you in the right industry?
              • Why you shouldn’t worry about your job during the ‘rona.
              • The most important thing! Besides Washing Your Hands!!!

Still Tryin’ To Spring Forward: A FARE Update

Yep, I’m NOT back! BUT, I didn’t want to not talk with y’all at all.

In this lil’ rant of a non-episode, I talk about three KEY things:

                1. Give Yourself Grace
                2. Intentions and Impact ARE NOT EQUAL – How not to take it personally.
                3. Quit Telling People to Go To HR!!!!  DO NOT GO TO HR…. unless you have a plan!!!
                4. I hope this is helpful.

                  Love,

                  FARE

Tired and Strugglin’: A FARE Update

I’m seven episodes into 2020 and I’m struggling.  This isn’t a normal episode.  In this episode, I get honest about what is going on with me and what I’m learning– in my new gig, in producing this podcast, and in life in general.

I hope this is helpful.  If it’s not, charge it to the game.

                  Love,
