Dr. Justin Puder is a licensed psychologist who owns a private practice in south Florida. He creates content on Instagram and TikTok under the handle @amoderntherapist with the aim of reducing stigma surrounding mental health and give his followers practical ways to improve their mental health.

Dr. J also has two Podcasts "Drop in with Dr. J" and "Welcome to Group Therapy" where he speaks on a wide array of mental health topics and answers mental health questions from Instagram each episode.

In this episode, Dr. J shares his experience with going to therapy for the first time and his journey in the field. We also discuss the use of humor in therapy, when it may be time to see a therapist, and finding support outside of one's family.
