Lee Mayer is the Co-Founder and CEO of Havenly - the popular online interior design and e-commerce company.

In 2014, Lee created Havenly to make decorating a home easier, and more budget-friendly for everyone after buying her first home and struggling to find an affordable designer. Before Havenly, Lee attended Harvard Business School.

Lee oversees Havenly’s work with 200+ professional designers nationwide, and manages the company’s 600+ furnishing partnerships that filters through millions of products. Lee has also spearheaded Havenly’s business to grow 14x over the past two years, landing the company a spot on CNBC’s 2018 Upstart 100 list.

This past year has been full of so many changes in my life - more than any other year. I thought I'd record a solo episode on what I've learned about embracing change and being okay with stepping into the unknown.

In this episode, I also share some research I found on the different fears that keep us from embracing change. These range from the fear of failure to the fear of not being in control, and much more.

I've found that embracing change and what we CAN control (our own reactions) is the only way to really thrive. The more we resist what IS, the harder it becomes to grow and learn from our experiences.

In addition, the more you know yourself, the more likely you'll be willing to step out of your comfort zone. As always, trust yourself and trust the process.

Empath or not, Robin believes in embracing the idea of standing out: "the you doesn't fit in because it's not supposed to."

In honor of this being the 25th episode of the show (!!), I decided to go back to how I started this podcast and share a solo episode.

In this episode, I touch on the importance of remembering that social media is a combination of highlight reels. We must remember to differentiate between what we see online/entertainment and reality, in a healthy manner.

We've all dealt with comparing ourselves to what we've seen online and thinking we have to live up to a specific image to feel "good enough." Instead, let's aim to focus on our strengths and what makes us unique.

I hope this episode can inspire you to look at yourself with fresh eyes - to appreciate who you are, instead of who you think you need to be.

In addition, we must remember that everyone is going through something - even those who seem to have it "all figured out." We never know the full story, so let's remember to be kind to one another.
