No more Tupperware parties - as the country's only importer closes after 50 years.

The plastic food containers were sold at get togethers where friends and families got to see the latest products.

Importers Ultimately Organised says increased costs and declining sales have forced the shut-down from October.

It says Tupperware Australia will continue to support New Zealand warranties.
