With the Enneagram, what we do is not as important as why we do the things we do. This also applies to confidence. Behavioral economics pioneer, internationally sought-after consultant, and professor of confidence-driven decision-making Peter Atwater explains, "The 'why' to me is all related to our feelings of certainty and control because when I boil down what confidence is it's knowing what's coming and feeling like we are prepared for it."
Today, we explore what confidence is and how to cultivate confidence….We dig into Peter's new book and go over his confidence quadrant framework, which includes the stress center, comfort zone, passenger seat, and the launchpad. It's a tool you can use to not only understand yourself better but to understand those around you better. This is a rich conversation and you're going to want to grab this book, The Confidence Map: Charting a Path from Chaos to Clarity.

How do you discern what God is saying? The Enneagram teaches us that we're not all the same person. It allows us to be unique and have unique experiences. So, what if the key to hearing Him is understanding the distinct way he speaks to you?
Today's guest, pastor and author Havilah Cunnington reminds us we can't assume that God speaks to us all in the same way. "I think that's really important in life, to be different, to have a uniqueness, to understand that God doesn't interact with all of His kids the same way. Just like I have four boys. I don't interact with [them] in the same way," explains Havilah. "Understanding how He speaks to you gives us a starting point. It allows us to at least recognize where we might be so we can actually go deeper and build a better relationship and interaction with Him."
In this episode, we dive into her intriguing insights from her latest book, discussing the nuances of discerning divine guidance and how to harness one's unique spiritual personality for a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God.
We also explore how Havilah's Enneagram type energizes her approach to spiritual leadership and her passion for helping others recognize and listen to God's voice in their lives.
If you've ever felt lost because you never felt that you could hear the voice of God in your life, this episode could help you discover His unique way of communicating with you.

What does it mean to be a man? It can be an incendiary question in some circles. But Brian Tome brings his Enneagram Eight energy to the topic as we explore his new book, The Five Marks of a Man: finding your path to courageous manhood,
"I didn't have that definitive moment where I crossed from boyhood to manhood because no one ever declared me a man. No one ever told me that," explains Brian. "It's not an age thing. It's not what kind of truck or Prius you drive. It's an attitude and a certain approach to life."
We explore his willingness to embrace vulnerability and live purposefully as part of this approach. It's a passionate conversation that sparks the question, "How would you characterize your understanding of manhood?"

Curiosity is something we're all born with…it's a desire to know, a search for understanding. In today's episode, Enneagram 7, Scott Shigeoka shares how his innately inquisitive nature allows him to foster deeper connections and explains how others can and should do the same.
"We often think about [curiosity] as an intellectual tool to extract information, but actually you can move from the mind into the heart and it can become a heart-center tool that you use to better understand people, to understand yourself, to understand the divine…it's a force for connection," explains Scott.
We dig into his new book, "Seek: How Curiosity Can Transform Your Life & Change the World," and differentiate between shallow curiosity and deep curiosity…and why we need both.

How do you manage the weight of what's going on in the world these days? Each of us handle stress differently, but when we take the time to recognize our triggers and automatic reactions, we're able to stop, pivot and intentionally change our response.
In Part 2 of our 3-part series, Anthony and I focus on the unique ways Enneagram 4s, 5s, and 6s experience and manage stress. We explore how:
Type 4s can channel their profound empathy to forge deep connections and resilience in the face of adversity.
The analytical brilliance of Type 5s can overshadow their emotional expression, particularly under stress.
Type 6s sometimes seek security in facts and forecasts, overlooking the serenity that comes from within.
We offer practical tips to mitigate self-defeating behaviors and remain emotionally balanced when life's circumstances are tense.
Listen to the full episode, then please share it with anyone who might be grappling with stress or burnout—it might be just what they need. P.S. You can also download our Ways to Mitigate Stress Based on Your Personality PDF for a quick-look at tips for each type.
There's a lot going on in the world right now and we're all feeling different types of pressures. Each of us handle stress in different ways, and if we're not careful, we can let our unhealthy behaviors take the lead. So, how do we work through seasons of stress to become the best, most helpful, most loving and compassionate expression of ourselves. I believe the Enneagram can help.
It's not a cure-all, but the Enneagram recognizes and takes into account the fluid nature of the personality, which is constantly adapting as circumstances change. There are times when your personality is in a healthy space, times when it's in an average space, and times when it's downright nuts. We all teeter on the continuum between healthy and unhealthy multiple times per day.
But when we take the time to recognize our triggers and automatic reactions, we're able to stop, pivot and intentionally change our response.
In this 3-part series, Anthony and I cover how each Enneagram Type typically deals with stress and offer practical tips to mitigate self-defeating behaviors and remain emotionally balanced. Today, we tackle Enneagram types One, Two, and Three.
