We developed guardrails and accountability the hard way. We didn't think about them, or develop them until our marriage was in crisis. At first, they started as a series of rules instead of a systemic way to approach life, but we learned how valuable they were in helping us head the right direction, and protecting what we value.
On this episode we cover some of our own personal guardrails for our marriage, tips on how to have that conversation with your spouse, and key aspects to look for when seeking out accountability partners.

Our story involves a lot of forgiveness....on both sides. On this episode we touch briefly on Lisa and what forgiveness looked like for her, but the focus is on Brad and his journey of walking through forgiving himself. Listen as he discusses the process that God brought him through and how that transformed the way he thought, and even looked at himself. He reveals how God eventually had him look at his scars in an entirely different way. We pray this honesty brings hope to wherever you might find yourself.
We love that there is NOTHING that anyone can do that is bigger than what Jesus did on the cross. When we truly repent, this forgiveness is extended to each one of us sinners and our slate is wiped clean. Whether you need to forgive yourself or someone else, we challenge you to make that choice. Walk it out daily, and don't let bitterness, discouragement, unforgiveness, or anger hold you back from what God has for you.
Remember this verse, “My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.”

When you are looking to rebuild trust that has been broken, there is an innate longing for the truth. In fact, you will go to great lengths in order to unearth any deception. And truth is a beautiful thing...but do you need to know every detail to move forward? Does every thing you know truly lead you towards healing?
On this episode we go through some practical tips and questions to help you navigate this process. Transparency is key! The willingness to reveal any and all things is necessary in order to walk out reconciliation. However, we also want to encourage you to remember that everything you know you will have to heal from. Everything you see, read, and hear has the ability to taint even more of your past. Because of that, you definitely need to ask yourself some tough questions before finding out EVERY detail about everything.
Ultimately, we ask you to go to Jesus. Pray for your spouse like you never have before, and specifically for their mind and yours!
"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." 1st Corinthians 10:13

In the past few weeks, we have walked you through our individual stories, and what God had to do in both of our lives to bring us to the point of reconciliation. Now we want to take you through the actual reconciliation process and the steps that we learned along the way.
On this episode. we talk about the detox process. We found this to be one of the most painful stages to walk through, as we were in a consistent cycle of distrust and failure.
We are praying that some of the mistakes we made in this process, will encourage you to BE RUTHLESS in eliminating things in your life that are holding you back from what God has for you, and your marriage. Don't let the flesh win and be willing to do whatever it takes. Don't continue to hold on to facets of your life, places, people, or things that need to be eliminated from your life.
And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.”
Matthew 18:8-9 ESV

We are so excited to be back for Season 5! We love that you are joining us for this journey, and pray you find this content helps you to grow as an individual and in your marriage.
We have had the amazing opportunity to share our story in many places, but we realized over the summer that we had failed to share it here. We hope, as we relay some of the darkest moments of our life, that you get a glimpse of the WHY behind our ministry...why we do this, why we are passionate about what God can do in marriages, and why we so diligently share hope. Above all, we pray that the path we took either helps you to avoid those steps in the wrong direction, or trust God to heal deep wounds.
This is Part 1 where Brad shares many of the small choices he made that eventually led him to places he never meant to go. He also shares how God reached him in those dark places, and offered him a choice.

We got a question from one of you that inspired this entire episode! We sure love to hear from you guys!
What does pursuit look like in your relationship? Do you know what pursuit feels like to you, to your spouse, and do you make time for it?
If there has been a breach of trust, are you going into hyper pursuit to really show your spouse that you value them, don't want to lose them, and to make new memories together?
The truth is, the longer you are together, the more intentional your pursuit of one another should be. And this should be fun!! You should want to pursue your spouse. This is the person you get to do life with! Don't waste it by selling for melancholy...go after extraordinary!
We also found this great article on pursuit! Read it here - https://psiloveyou.xyz/men-what-does-pursuing-a-woman-really-look-like-149752b10fd2
