I’m all about using my students' interests which is why I have high-interest themes in my membership every month. One of those interests is music.

In this episode of SLP Coffee Talk, I’m sharing how you can use song lyrics to target a variety of student goals while keeping students engaged. 

There are always going to be students that complain that speech activities are boring. Over the years, I realized that I have to use their interests and change things up each and every time. I can’t use the same lessons or games or worksheets in my sessions because it gets old for students really fast. 

A lot of students spend their free time listening to music on their iPads or watching music videos on YouTube, so why not use that to our benefit? The tips in this episode will help you use song lyrics to work on multiple different goals. 

You can take any goal you're working on and use some lyrics to make it motivating, engaging, and relevant to your students. Tune in to hear my favorite ways to use lyrics to work on articulation, vocabulary, inferencing, social skills, and so much more!
